FM is amazing. Better and better every year and what a bass section now. Doesn't even matter if don't like some of the band members lolol just kidding btw I hope you keep the drum scores but consider that I barely ever hear loud rolls and it would have been super cool to hear the open rolls loud because usually folks can either play them quietly like mcwhirter or play them mostly just loud like Willie. Music is not dependent on your technical ability. Use your ears to find what your hands must learn to accomplish. I got that from Kilpatrick actually. Good luck and here's to the best damn female player ever to grace this beautiful planet!

I believe Renee Cliff is the best I've ever seen. She played in Nunawading and Australian Highlanders what a player both hands Playing good the DUTHART Scores properly. Janice Savage in the from 1987 or 19888 Vale was a very good player Early 1980s there was two Woman played in Dingwall. Good players. Yvonne McLaren from Queensland Australia

Renee was the best Female Pipe band snare drummer. I mentioned Yvonne McLaren she was leading drummer of Queensland Irish at NewZealand CHAMPIONS ships lead them to the the best drumming. Renee and Janice was the first two that could play real tone out of a drum. Theres not many .providing playing on the snares.

Going well. Grant Cassidy back in the Band now as leading drummer. Good first year. To be fair Andrew Lawson built a very good drum corp judges was cruel on Shotts. Grant is going to the job. It wont be too long before Emmett Conway and Grant win majors lets hope so. I grew up in the 1970s listening to ❤Shotts❤

This is going to take some beating .Montgomery are impressive let's get it right. All they need is three other performances as good or better & fair adjudication . Medleys great Actually the Drumming is very strong here also probably the best so far in what I've heard medleys. 👏👏👏👏

I'm a Shotts fan Over 50years my dad put on the Lps put sticks in my hands I'm 4 or 5years of age 1971 1972 he noticed I listened quite tightly for when the drummers played I moved the sticks to play and when they didnt in periods of rest I didnt . From late 70s I always wanted to be alive to see a NORTHERN IRELAND Band win the Worlds . Then A NORTHERN IRELAND man Won the Drumming with Shotts 1978 as drummer then a leading Drummer 1984 but I still try appreciate who ever wins it. Its emotional for Ryan Canning From NORTHERN IRELAND won the Worlds with Shotts as pipe Major 2015 that was so so emotional it didn't realise how much until We had our 2nd Son in 12 August 2017 yes that emotional. Did you know that The Tom MCALLISTER and Alex DUTHART originally was from COLERAINE and CARRICKFERGUS .Now Emmett Conway 👏👏👏👏👏some day soon will Make us joyful for Shotts again. I believe it will happen. When I dont know.

@@johngaudet2650. We are exercising our democratic right in our opinion. FMM are a very good drum corp . I can hear faults here and there more in MSR . WELL mine arnt painted on EITHER. Oh so have we to tell lies and say it's all great all good when we believe that it's not. However this medley is good. The it's this drummer 2nd year as leading drummer and it's better STRONGER than last year however there are some things that need addressing.

Pipe corps is playing one tempo and the drummers are doing their own thing. Open your ears and play with your pipe section.

Exactly , this is not the FM ensemble of old . No swing in the march , all down to drummers over phrasing and completely ignoring tune pulses . The pipers sadly have lost their FM composure and seem to have lost their way a bit . Pipes sound unusually straining for pitch . I hate having to state this as I just adore FM , but in my humble opinion the pipers need to slow up and phrase their usual way and the drummers , well I just can hear no music in their aggressive scores which have genetically modified this great band . Sorry , I still wish them well for worlds , but .?

Outstanding ensemble , drum scores , drum sound . The bass section are just so precise without any semblance of dominance . A super run that is so musically together .

Tone at that G1 level is always great and tightness of play is superior to FM ... I do not include Closkelt as they clearly are NOT G1 standard ... Alan Tully's selection is extremely musical as always and their PS Murphy is of great experience and support 👍👍👍 Fingers crossed for SLOT for The Worlds 🎵🎼🎶👍👍👍

Hi there, you are correct with your observation that Closkelt (in which I play, but do not speak for) did indeed finish 3rd in a 3 band competition. I do disagree with your opinions on the FMM video, the grade status of Closkelt and the reasons for being in that grade. I am very comfortable taking opinions from anyone over the subjective nature of pipe band music, but opinions from anonymous usernames are hard to take seriously and/or act on.

Another brilliant performance from the ultimate pipeband. Musically on point, tiny things to sort , for some reason the arrangement for the slow air not quite as impactful as a few years ago which was sublime. A few notes separating on the day but didn't affect the energy of the performance. Looking forward to the Scottish

It is solely a tribute band. As 1970 was the first year of competitive medleys they are replicating this as closely as possible with tune selection, style and tempos.

It's a tricky march-on tune that allows them to demonstrate unison; however, the harmonies in the second part of the opener overwhelm the regular melodic line. I don't like that. The second s'spey is clinky.
