Folks should prepare the gift recipient for the shock of seeing color for the first time better than they do. It can be quite a traumatic experience. I watched a big middle aged man who looked like he could bench press my SUV, giggle and run around like a 5 year old when he first put them on, only to end up later sobbing like Charlton Heston in ‘Soylent Green’ saying….’How could I have known?’. We take all this for granted every day.

What a great gift from a great daughter!! I do feel a little bad. He was obviously brought to tears and was having one of the most overwhelming and emotional moments in his life and the other lady wouldn't let up. Just because she doesn't know how it works, doesn't mean it doesn't work - it just means she don't know how it works. It's like saying a cell phone a hoax because you don't know how radio waves work At least he gets to keep enjoying the color forever now!
