how beautiful! I'm currently training my own assistance dog (Australian here, service dogs are better known as assistance dogs in Australia). I am about to start back at Uni and he's only 6 months old but is already well trained. he comes to work with me (vet nurse) so he gets plenty of desensitisation as well. thank you for the wonderful video showcasing what it's like to attend school trips with a service dog! I hope you're both well

200000% worth it! I’ve got 2 pairs each for all three of my dogs…only one is a service dog. We’ve got friends who have them for their dogs too and love them

Congratulations on the new puppy! No worries, don't let anyone tell you getting that vest was a bad idea because at least you are planning ahead and you have it for when he is older and won't have to panic being like "I need to get him a vest now" Good luck on the new puppy training adventure.

Thats exciting, congratulations on the soon to be new addition to the family. Just out of curiosity, what made you choose the snauzer breed? Also will he be living with your family at home when you go to college? I would imagine that he’d be too young to go in the dorm with you while you’re in class and such.

That place is next level illegal... smh, they need to take those signs down and say service dogs only, and also stop letting their pet roam around the restaurant like that! It’s not fair to even not allow pets if they themselves have a pet, it’s especially wrong for them to deny service dogs.

I just found your account and Kokie is so well trained! Did you owner train her? If so you did a phenomenal job! I hope I'm able to train my future service as well as Kokie is.

You and Cokie both seem to be doing well. Hope the semester is going good for each of you. I’m exhausted just watching how busy your day was lol I hope you’re able to catch up on some rest and self-care as well. Thanks for the blog. I wasn’t able to go away to school this year the way I plan so I always like watching other handler experiences being on campus with their service dogs.

I'm going to college next year and I have a giant Rhodesian Ridgeback and Greyhound mix, he weighs 70 pounds and is about 26 inches tall at the withers... Will it be hard for us to maneuver around the desks during class? Is there any specific training I should do? I've been working on teaching him to go under my legs when I sit down but I have to raise them up so he can crawl under because he's so tall. He also has a tail that is about 3 feet long and when he's happy, his tail wags very fast and it hits EVERYTHING! I'm worried that he might accidentally beat the heck out of someone with his massive tail or possibly break it somehow. I'm also worried that someone will step on his tail while he is asleep or laying down, should I make some sort of padded armor for his tail?? Is there a way to train him to tuck it??? Should I dye it neon colours so people might see it? Should I put LED lights on his tail? I'm so worried about his tail...

Thank you so much for answering my question! (The puppy training one) I’m currently working to save for a puppy who will be my SDiT and I need all the tips and advice I can get! I know how much work it’s going to be, and how much patience I’m going to need and I feel like I’m as prepared as I’m going to get, but any advice still helps!

Congratulations on finishing up your first Samester of college, that’s the huge accomplishment and very exciting. I hope your speech went well and that you have a well-deserved enjoyable holiday break with friends and family. I always find your videos to be fun and entertaining. I plan to go to grad school this year with my first service dog but various life events got in the way and I wasn’t able to, so I really like finding handilers experiences going to college with there’s SD’s because it lets me learn things about the process that I would never thought of before hand so I can get as much information as I can so when I am able to go I am prepared and have insight. It’s also just really nice to have an authentic handler who talks about both the positive side and struggles of service dog training and handling.
