This is a wonderful railway. It would be so much better if all trains ran at scale speeds and locomotives did not start and stop like sports cars.

Impressive modelling of Kings Cross and the southern end of the East Coast Main Line. The video seems to be a concerto for trains and bells!

Fantastic modelling, very realistic. Wish I could say the same about the way the trains were driven in this video. Far too fast, especially stopping and starting. Even accelerating into the last platform towards the buffer stops. More realistic to go slowly and smoothly, take longer for each move. It'll be worth it!

Sad really this is preserved railway and " preserved " ! when it could be on branch line somewhere ! I bet they are crying out for these in places !! The Lymington branch in Hampshire is very quiet on a cold winter's evening when there is hardly anyone around ! One of these would be much better rather than a four car electric or 2 car diesel!

Visit historic Gainsborough. See this amazing layout in full and go to the marvellous Old Hall. Then take a stroll along the banks of the Trent before some refreshment in a town centre hostelry.

We’re still operating, We have club nights once a week for members. Our next exhibition is on Saturday 15th June, open from 1:30pm till 5:30pm. All other exhibition dates are on our website.

Hello, the railway is based in the 1960’s. There was a good mix of colour light signals with semaphores around at that time. I’m guessing the London area being first to re-signal to colour lights which has been represented here.

From a film point of view given opportunity I would suggest using this with a combination of other shots, such as passing shots, along with cutting down the under track parts by using a combination of other shots. I a none general visitor day, which can see this was, it would be relatively easy to film this possibly at the same time as a retake with a little careful planning and then post editing on the computer.

Scenically, this layout is like the curate's egg - good in parts and bad in parts. BUT operations are complex, realistic and accurate and one is encouraged to become immersed in the railway atmosphere. A highly recommended day out for anyone who misses the steam and green diesel era of BR!
