Hitchcock must have appeared twice in The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) because he is in the opening bus scene.

Hitchcock's cameos in Marnie and North by Northwest weren't exactly subtle.

Response to the person who said they get easier and easier because he wanted people to find him and get it out of the way so they could watch the movie. Maybe. But I thought psycho was almost impossible. At least for me. It is a great theory though. Maybe by the time he made psycho, I figured he’d make it very difficult so people would have to keep coming back until they saw him, and then they’d have to come back to watch the movie. L O L

The cameo he does in ROPE, walking down the street has never been confirmed as to whether or not it is him.
@poetcomic1 Жыл бұрын
There is only ONE Hitchcock cameo in which he participates in the story. That is in the film Notorious in which he is seen slugging down a glass of champagne and thus personally adding to the suspense of the champagne running out!

Lifeboat was probably his most creative cameo

Thank you for this wonderful video! One small thing I noticed was the absence of dates for Suspicion and The Trouble with Harry; they are 1941 and 1955, respectively. 👍

You got Rope wrong! He's not walking down the street - it's his profile on a neon sign; when you see it, it's unmistakeable.
@thetid88523 жыл бұрын
Hitchcock himself said, in 1948: "It's traditional, with me at least, that I appear fleetingly in every one of my pictures. But Rope, with a cast of only nine people who never leave the apartment, looked like the end of the Hitchcock tradition. There was just no way that I could get into the act. Then someone came up with a solution. The result? The Hitchcock countenance will appear in a neon "Reduco" sign on the side of a miniature building!"

8:41 I liked how they segued his TV theme song into the musical clip during the cameo :D EDIT: Also in Frenzy, he was also seen in a THIRD clip (actually previous to the other two), during the scene where the original pan from the helicopter slowly zoomed in on the crowd, he was standing at the rail with a white glove.

In some of his movies he's in them for a brief second. In others it's longer and, he's even speaking. I just re-watched Rebecca and I couldn't find him, now I know why. He was in it soooo briefly. Thank you for this video.

The only one that wrong in this is Rope. It's unverified that that's Hitch in the Title sequence walking with the tall woman. Some thought it was him and his wife but she was much shorter. No, if you watch Rope and get to the evening shots when the city lights and neon comes on you'll see a silloette of Hitch out the window in red neon. A good shot is between the characters of Kenneth and Janet just before they leave the party. They're angry with Brandon for his game playing.
