Hey! Love your videos. Since they are not subtitled in Spanish, it is a little difficult for me to follow the explanations. What are the plasticine strips that you put before casting the plaster for?

Why don't you just make the clay all one piece so there's no Seams at all to worry about

Thank you so much for the video! I tried following your video step by step and i dunno why, i always fail at the end with taking the ear off the cast. It just crumbles or loses form. I tried around 8 layers so far but its not working. I even then tried the exact same ingredients you have in the video. Any ideas why its not working? :(

I love your videos! Is there any reason to use latex instead of silicone? Im trying to make comically long ears and worry about the weight. Thank you!

Latex is much lighter than silicone. Many because latex is hollow it’s just a skin that’s firm enough to hold up. If you make large ears out of silicone they will be very heavy on your ears and may droop from the weight of the silicone because silicone is solid and not hollow. Just to let you know the difference. Thanks for watching.

You are literally the only person I've seen that has shown the entire detailed process of creating teeth! This makes me so happy because I have uneven teeth and I want to make my own vampire teeth because I've NEVER been able to wear both fangs in a set. I honestly can't wait to do this for myself and for my family members I know who really want fangs but our teeth were fucked because of our family genes 😭. Thank you SO much.

@EggHeadFX
@EggHeadFX 10 ай бұрын
It’s best to use plaster because its poores. It will help the latex dry. Silicone doesn’t allow air in to let the deeper latex cure.

I'm thinking of making some ears that stick out horizontally 1.5-2 inches (Pandoria from Xenoblade 2) - are there any tricky things about sculpting that sort of shape? I'm wondering if I'd need to use a harder clay to make sure it maintains its structure.

Is there a clear point where you'd want to do something more like the "zombie teeth" tutorial where you showed how to also sculpt gums instead of just making fangs that cover multiple teeth, or is it a matter of preference?

Your question is kind of opened ended. We are not making dentures here just making a mold of the original plaster teeth so that we can make more plaster castings of the actors teeth.

A few questions... Rather than chop with a knife, can I use my heat foam cutter? Also why not mix the paint with Mod Podge instead of the prosthetic adhesive? After painting how long before they are completely dry and "throwable"?
@EggHeadFX
@EggHeadFX 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use a heat foam cutter. You will get a different texture but it if fits the look of your exterior than that would be excellent. You can use Mod Podge. I use prosthetic adhesive because it makes the rock soft and pliable if thrown it at someone and extra strong from chipping with hitting something. Thanks for your questions

Love your videos! What clay do you use, or find is best for this?
@EggHeadFX
@EggHeadFX 2 жыл бұрын
I use a non-sulfur oil based clay. Silicone will not cure if there is sulfur in the molds. If you are starting you can purchase a nice clay from any hobby store. I love a medium Chavant NSP Clay.
