Forget Dracula, these mosquitoes are the real bloodthirsty bloodsuckers

Yeah, mosquitoes are the real bloodsuckers at least to humans, and they are far deadlier than bats, throughout the history of mankind a large part of humans actually died to mosquitoes even to this day.

The Crusader, a man whose name had been long forgotten in the pursuit of his faith, stood on the rugged cliffs overlooking the treacherous cove. The Siren army had become a looming threat to the peaceful country nestled beside the sea, and the responsibility to defend it had fallen heavily on his shoulders. As the wind whistled through his tattered cloak, he couldn't help but wonder about the family he had left behind to answer this divine calling. Few were willing to join him on this perilous mission, for the cove had become notorious for the sinister rumors that swirled around it. Tales of monstrous creatures lurking in the depths, seducing unsuspecting souls to join their ranks, sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest. The volunteers who did come forward were often society's outcasts - lowlifes, bandits, and those with nothing to lose. The Crusader led this motley crew deep into the heart of the cove, and the journey was long and arduous. They braved the relentless storms and unnerving silence that hung in the air. For years, they pressed on, surviving on meager rations and the remnants of their faith, trusting in the Crusader's unwavering determination. Then, one fateful evening, as the sun set over the horizon, they heard it-a haunting melody emanating from the depths of the cove. It was a song that stirred their deepest desires and fears. The closer they ventured, the stronger the enchantment became. To the Crusader, the source was nothing but a hideous monster, but to his companions, it was the embodiment of their long-lost loves, their most profound desires, and beautiful women beckoning them to join. The Crusader was unable to rouse them from their stupor, and the haunting tune began to affect him as well. He found himself drifting into a world of his own, where his family awaited him, his wife's warm embrace, and his children's laughter filled his ears. The Siren whispered in his mind, "Just come live here. We will be the lovely family again." But as the Crusader's resolve wavered, a glimmer of reality shone through. He clutched the cross that his son had given him before he left, the same cross that had been a constant reminder of his duty and the world he had left behind. With a newfound determination, he raised his sword and, with pain coursing through his veins, cut off one of his ears. The shock of the self-inflicted pain brought him back to the real world, and he saw with horror that he had lost himself in the Siren's song. Frantically, he sought to awaken his comrades, shaking them out of their reverie. Slowly, three of them stirred, disoriented and bewildered. The Siren's true form emerged from the depths, revealing its grotesque nature. Its alluring facade had been shattered, and the crew, now free from the enchantment, rallied to their leader's side. The battle against the Siren army began in earnest, the Crusader leading the charge with newfound fervor and his comrades fighting alongside him. The clash between the faithful Crusader and the monstrous Siren army unfolded in the cove, as the fate of the country near the sea hung in the balance. The Crusader had found strength in his faith and the love of his family, proving that the bonds of reality and duty could triumph over the most seductive of illusions. The battle raged on, but the Crusader and his companions stood united, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

@@SCP-up4ot the one thing I don't understand is why did they call it darkest dungeon 2? There is no dungeon there and it drastically changed all ingame mechanics including battle system. My opinion that they should have called it something else. I like both games btw, just not a name part as I find it misleading and used this way solely for advertising purposes.

@@user-id7th6yf5v 1. Its a sequel. 2. Maybe just my interpretation, but its because in 1, you conquer a physical dungeon giving birth to the end of the world, in 2 spoiler alert final boss, you have to defeat the mental dungeon each and every character is trapped in to beat it. The story in general is more focused on the regret and lament the characters feel, which acts as a mental dungeon of sorts for them

I think Darkest Dungeon has the single best sense of atmosphere consistently through any piece of media I've ever seen or played. That sense of oppression that makes you perform rash decisions despite being fully turn based with no time limit. The art, the music tracks, the ambient sound, the character and enemy designs, the narration the f*cking narration! God it all feels so perfected like I cant even fathom it.

I love how he reassures you that even if you may believe his praises almost mocking after he reveals himself, he genuinely means each reassurance. While fighting the heart, he still tells you A DECISIVE BLOW on crits, and other inputs. Its him basically telling you “you’re screwed, but i can still see you’re doing good.”

I think it make sense thematically flavor-wise, as well as doesnt make that big a deal since you need different parties for different missions anyway. First party to deal with shuffles, second do guard and kill the big templars quick, third for a long exhausting mission and so on

Darkest dungeon is the scariest location in the game, not because of monsters, but because you are afraid to lose all of your heroes. This is the hardest location in the game, you cant run away so easily AND if you play on stygian, where you must be fast and you have no rights to lose your heroes - this location unleashes its full potential.
