Yikes, the Donnie T. cameos didn’t age well at all, and Samantha comparing Mr. Big to him is utterly… 🤮🤢

To be honest, i still don't understand why SATC is so popular. I watched all seasons and it was... idk average? i think the only thing that makes this show stand out is that it focuses on single women in their 30s and on their sex lives. it was revolutionary concept for the time when it aired. but other than that, it's mediocre almost in every aspect.

I feel like Spinner just wanted to bone Darcy and then he had to date her because she's religious. Maybe he ended up really liking her? But I think it had scummy beginnings.

My personal ranking is 1. Miranda 2. Samantha 3. Charlotte 4. Carrie I can’t stand Carrie upon my rewatch as an adult. I find Carrie after mid season 2 to be almost unbearably frustrating. Her relationship with Big was doomed from the start but she kept beating that dead horse. And then the shenanigans with Aiden oh dear god- she breaks up with Big because she wants to get married, then she’s with Aiden and eventually when he asks her to marry him she doesn’t because “she doesn’t want to get married” and then she marries Big 😂 like she just kept creating her own problems. She is to Aiden what Big was to her- a POS that continued to string someone else along and give repeated mixed signals to while using them as a placeholder until someone they deemed better came along.

You made me realize the whole reason I'm traumatized of wearing a scrunchy outside was because I saw the scrunchy episode staying up late as a kid in the mid west, and I always thought Carrie was a mean girl but like in a way I like in a fictional character, and she mocked the girl from the mid-west/south accident so ruthlessly. To this day I will never ever wear one. I don't care. (this is for engagement in the video. it helps it in the algorithm. <3 ) (I commented at the scrunchy part. I like Carrie!!! Like if you see yourself in her I didn't mean that in a mean way.)
@PorshaLauriАй бұрын
Hahaha I also have an aversion to scrunchies lol but even through all of Carrie’s flaws, she remains my fav and the character I relate to the most, she’s just so damn funny & clever (the whole cast is really great but of course I have some bias)
@Killstar708Ай бұрын
So your mad that Carrie has questions about the guy she was sleeping with / dating being bisexual ? The show is from a dating point of view . That’s how she felt and most women including myself would be kinda freaked out if a guy they were with was into men like that. She wasn’t being hateful about it. It’s like now people can’t even have preferences I hate “woke” culture.

When will we call this exactly what it is.....RACISM. The fact that 'Sex & The City" & 'Friends' were 2 shows that set in NYC, which is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world * and make sure the diversity in the show is almost nonexistant SAYS ALOT. Its simply racism and that is why when it came to them including these topics is was so uncomfortable.

Great video. Paige and Alex, Sean and Emma, and Spinner and Jane are my non-canon endgames from this list. I think the writers did these couples so dirty. They kind of wrecked Alex and Jane's characters to break up those ships imo. And Emma and Sean's breakup made sense since he was going off to join the army. But I really wish that he came back and they rekindled their romance. In my mind, all these couples found their way back to each other.

What is really incredible is how Carrie, as the main character, does not grow or evolve AT ALL throughout the series. If you took her from the second SATC (don't even get me started on what a dumpster fire that was) and compared her to Carrie from Season 1 - same person...in fact she might even be worse. I am not including her in AJLT, because I did not feel like I needed to watch it, but it seems like she didn't really change much, or again, got worse. She is perpetually selfish and doesn't learn anything from any of the things she has been through or from anyone around her. The older I got the more I noticed all the problems you mentioned. Great video. I still watch for nostalgia, but with more realistic glasses.

Loved and currently love So Weird so MUCH! Its one of the shows I can discuss over and over. I agree that there was episodes that terrified me as a kid but I loved the subject matter. The writing was so good for a kid show. There is a So Weird Podcast that goes in depth on each episode and has done interviews with the past writers, directors, and actors. Highly suggest you check it out if you haven't already. I also agree with many fans on a revival with an adult Fi. I'd be open to a reboot but I would be so afraid they would dumb down the writing. So many good shows and movies at the time with Zoog Disney. Still miss that content.

With Charlotte and her ring, Carrie wasn't asking for Charlotte to give up her ring. She wasn't pointing out how Charlotte wasn't willing to help her, IN ANY WAY THAT SHE COULD!!! Samantha didn't offer money, but she did offer to help budget. Miranda offered money help. Charlotte stayed quiet, and I'd be upset about that, too. That being said, charlotte n Miranda are my faves, and Charlotte has not only the best arc, but the healthiest love life of them all.

I know why they do this. They did it to another actor called minkus who is only in season one. And when they went to high school they didn’t have him in the show anymore. The reason why it was because they didn’t know like a part to give him and they wanted it to be more about Topanga Corey shaun and main cast but he did come back in when they graduated high school but basically they just do it because they either don’t have a part for them or they just wanna be more about certain characters in the show❤ hope all this makes sense But on the show, he did explain that he was on the other side of the campus so that’s why they didn’t see him should I don’t try to like basically cut them out. They just try to give them either a new role or they wait a little bit and try to give them a little bit more into this show.

My favorite detail that’s also a great example of show don’t tell (because it’s never pointed out in the movie) - after Peter tells Lara Jean he likes her hair down, her hair is down for most of the movie. When they fight around the holidays, her hair goes up. Then it’s down again by the end. 🥲

Great video. Your criticism was extremely fair and well explained. I was in my 30’s during the shows run. Loved it! As a woman, it was refreshing to see such a matter of fact way in which the women navigated their sex lives. It was pretty progressive for the time. In some ways.
