Lake Illawarra use to be plentiful back in the day. The Lake was opened up to stop the smell and now very few schoolies

Trawled for schoolies with Max Leeson on the Clarence. Straight out of the cooker they have a hint of eucalypt in their taste, which disappears after a few hours on ice. Signed "THE POM"

Id love to know if Australia has shrimps in its ocean or just shrimp? Is it just that Australians call shrimp prawns ?

If you see a marine biologist leave him on the dock: he is a commie there to destroy you and your industry. No good no good at all!

As soon as you mentioned "the science and WWF" I knew this was a commie act to eventually cripple the trawl industry. I tell you blokes DO NOT make deals with the devil!!

It would be best for our east coast weather if you could go ashore at the exmouth HAARP weather weapon and shut that damn thing off.

I was a deckie out of the old southpor bar, 115 plus trawlers a night went through southport bar, plus another100 thru tweed, we raped the ocean for years , it was like a woolies car park out there back in the late 70s, then the shit hit, NO MORE PRAWNS, why fucking greedy human beings, again, THE GALWAY BAY was scuttled of point lookout, as there was nothing left, ya fishing is great if we can get rid of or control the human killers of the planet ! ps I bottom fished as well , and the fish traps off tweed at the 50s fixed that up as well

Great video people love seeing the work go into managing this wonderful fishery worked out of Darwin in the 80s on trawlers and I knew then something had to be done to make it sustainable and to this day it is a way of life I still miss.

We only trawl over mud or sand, trawling in Australia is vastly different to the rest of the world. We are heavily regulated and take our commitment to the environment seriously.

Here this person is complaining again about an industry that is the best managed in the world try whinging about some of the other fisheries in other countries then you might have a point.

You are all screwing yourselves over - we tried to warn you back in 1990 what these departments are all about. SHUTTING YOU DOWN. And don't tell me for one minute I don't know what I am speaking about - I spent 20 years at sea. 15 years in the Straights, one season in the gulf, and the rest on the South east and east coast of Australia. I hate all of these departments and people that stand with them with a PASSION.

Somebody is suppressing these vids. The whole subject is being suppressed. I can tell. This is not natural what's happening to the prawning channels. I'm in IT and I can tell when InnerTube is being paid to suppress 'topics'and 'subjects'. If you understand YouFail they get paid to suppress channels that others don't like. This is just wrong. Other than that! I believe we should leave the fishing industry to those who have it in their blood. They understand intimately what over fishing means and how supply and demand are not always the same. I would trust a six generation families advice over some 30yo Uni grads idea of 'the best way forward'. .....and I have three degrees...
@bicanoo_magic34523 жыл бұрын
How the hell can I be the first to comment on this amazing vid? wish people in the supermarkets knew about how our prawns were harvested and what fisherman and the fishing industry in Australia does to keep the industry viable. I believe no one in Aus would ever buy a Thailand raised prawn ever again....if they did!
@australianwildprawns873 жыл бұрын
Both Coles and Woolworths source king prawns from this fishery, so the easy thing we can do as consumers is read the label at point of sale - and always look for Australian.
@bicanoo_magic34523 жыл бұрын
@@australianwildprawns87 I understand what you are saying. But when a consumer is faced with a plethora of choices at the POS. Australian, Thailand or 'Zimbabwe' prawns doesn't explain a lot of the 'sourcing issues'. I am now maybe 1-in-1000 better educated about the Ozzie prawn industry, Most people standing in front of the seafood counter in woollies barely know the difference between prawns and yogurt!!! ....or give a flying Fu^&k about where the hell prawns come from. If you told most shoppers that Prawns come from fish they would probably believe you. The masses are drones on 'slow mo' speed. That's the issue. Not enough consumer 'edu-meh-cation'.
