My wife and I have been saying for a while for our family we enjoy the universal experience much more… just nice everything is in one spot… even with the new park sure it will be 2 spots but Epic universe is a 5 park stop! Disney is just too spread out and it feels dated even with the new stuff it’s just not nearly enough.

I saw this show in 2022 and agree - it was the best show I've ever seen. I did the meet and greet afterwards and that was the first thing I said. It was amazing!!!!

Such a great video! I knew about some of the expansion within Epic Universe from another Chanel, but all of that red sections just makes me excited to see what they will do. I hope they can get another water park or another park because there are some rides that I wish to ride but they are in other parks around the world. Like the Jurassic World Adventure from Beijing’s Universal Studios. It has a really cool animatronic that chases the ride vehicle. Hollywood Studios has a ride for The Secret Life of Pets and they still do the studio tours. Tokyo’s Universal Studios still has its Jaws the ride which was at our Universal Studios Orlando until we swapped it out for Diagon Alley. I first went to Universal Studios in 2012 and have loved it ever since.

I will love to see new park on mythology include villains, fairys , mermaids based on sea sirens { not disney} in the park

I am split on this. On one hand there are ways you can track progress through the parks and the wand duels sound amazing. But on the other, I feel it would take from the immersion having batteries in our wands and an obvious eyesore on where the wand takes apart from to put the batteries in. There is something about just taking the old wands right out of the box and you got all you need to perform your spells throughout the wizarding sections. Hopefully they conceal the battery area well.

I’m not a big wand guy. But for those who are it sounds like another great opportunity to do things with it. Thanks for the video.

in contrast Disney removed the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game which was complimentary. Universal is capitalizing selling wands and doing things in the same windows.

Between Dark Universe and The Ministry of Magic, I truly believe Universal is going to solidify themselves as the best in the industry when it comes to immersing guests into worlds based off iconic films.

Great video! Implementing RPG elements into the guest experience is absolutely bonkers! I think the wand battles could go either one of two ways: it's just spamming avaracadabra until dead and forgettable experience or it's actually strategic gameplay where your choices define the kind of wizard you are. Maybe they could implement a king of the hill system, where you do wizard grafiti for territory control and the tag is custom to you. So many ideas they could run with and whatever works will eventually make it's way into pokemon where I will make my new permanent residence.

All current magic stations will be 2.0 updated with completely new displays or with added effects. Universal is also adding new magic wand experiences in both parks so it will be worth a good part of a day of magic if Epic opens and you want to try them all out in the 3 parks. It's all very excited and although I never use a wand I love to people watch and the kinetic energy these experiences give to the lands.

Very good analysis ! Great predictions as well. But you missed a KEY factor : ALL Universal Parks in Orlando are moving to FACIAL RECOGNITION by opening of Epic Universe. At the same time as they are pushing the boundaries of immersive experiences with added interactivity they are also being mindful to not alienate some of their audience (like their neighbors have for a few years now) which would happen if ALL added was behind a paywall or extra purchase ( in the case of Epic Universe, the 4 Portals all offer different experiential tools to ENHANCE that : Power Up Bands at SNW, New Magic Wands at WWofHP Ministry of Magic, Baby Dragons at HTTYD, Sxyxyxyts at Dark Universe, each sold individually ). That's where the facial recognition really shines !! The data tracked by the app, recorded on the nfc chips of your interactive world gadget (be it a wand or band) surely allow for some neat interactions, bragging rights, and more to come but... all it will take for Mario and Luigi to cheer on your kid wishing a happy birthday on that day, or for a painting coming to life at WW Ministry of Magic catch your attention by calling out your name is simply you filling out some basic information when you register your ticket and have your face scanned. Thanks to all Universal Orlando Resort & Experiences moving to Facial Recognition next year, that will become true for all the parks, as well as the resorts. You get to control how much you want, if at all, with privacy controls (for those that have no issues scanning their faces on iphones and ipads and never read how much data they track or share, but would cause a riot over a park not inconvenience you with tickets and releasing turn styles automatically thanks to your face). So, if you want some of the personalized interactive experiences, but doesn't want/can spend any more for it, Universal still has you covered!!! For NEXT LEVEL immersion and interaction thou, some of the ideas you presented are already on the works and some will def be part of the Universal plans moving forward. In fact it is funny you mentioned that specific game, because nobody believed Hogwarts Legacy would still be released and run on Nintendo Switch, since it took an extra year to make that version work well.... why do you think they went through such trouble ? I am leaving that as a big hint of things to come. Next year, not only Epic Universe opens with facial recognition and new interactive technology. The World of Super Nintendo World might immediately get a power up by ways of how it will interact with Nintendo's next console... and since you take it to Epic Universe, wouldn't it make sense that any special wand interactivity that could translate into a WW game be available just on that same console? Synergy keeps your licensed partners happy! There is a whole different level of game at play when we deal with licensed IPs as Universal mostly does, vs other parks who avoids any IP it doesn't own (we all know some horrible decisions were done there JUST because of that). There is a lot to be said in using IPs owned by parent company, and simply raising the profile of those, financially speaking. But creatively ? Not so much. It is at the heart of what has been driving discontent with some parks (Epcot transformation, for example) and major praise for others... Epic Universe will be one of the first parks since Walt's original creations to open with a mix of owned and licensed properties, but most importantly, an ORIGINAL IP with its own music, style, attractions, etc. Many are already excited imagining what other worlds we might see in the expansions to come, and we know possibilities are endless... because it won't be dictated by what is owned in their portfolio, or which licenses they already have (as proven since announcement of SNW as an anchor coming to Universal Parks - and EVERYONE is just waiting for other shoe to drop on that one, fully aware that part of the plan to keep you at Universal a week is sprinkle the franchises in all 3 parks, with more N surely to come to IOA and then Universal Studios) but true heirs of the word Imagineers. People shouldn't sleep on Celestial Park being officially deemed a fifth world and a new IP created originally for the park... Stardust Racers is one of major attractions for the park and was put on it for good reason. Nobody is ready for the next revelation... you said we now know everything, all 5 worlds ?!? Well, let's say the fact they didnt mention the OCULUS yet and saved for last the GRAND HELIOS HOTEL, the OCULUS fountain shows and the Celestial Park Transformation experience for last are a big hint that there is a lot more to it than people dream of.... rewatch each video if you like easter eggs, see how they will all connect explaining an interactive story that starts at Chronos Tower gathering energy (which you will also see affect each world differently, the dark universe for example syphoning it to convert into the dark energy it needs) to open the portal to the Celestial Gardens : the key World, that will signal visually with its changing energy when there is enough to power certain portals and when energy from others affect it. The Grand Helios may be the shining sun for this Epic Universe, the Constellation Carrousel is its moon (see panels if didn't figure out) so... what could that make the Oculus ?!? The pyros being tested now are but a bleep in what will also become the new standard for immersive theme park shows. If you read this all, mark and come back in just a few months, then remember where you read it first! Thanks again for the video and your speculation!! Great Video as always. Another method of the portraits recognizing you. And not having to use the wand is the facial recognition Universal has suggested for entering lands and linking to your ticket, and possibly the mobile app ?? That way all guests get these experiences and it not being reliant on which wand version you have. This facial recognition could be used in similar ways for all portals. Making the ques so much more interactive and personal ;) I cannot wait for this park to open.

Idt they should sell the British wands at epic. I get that ppl are more likely to get the Harry Potter branded wands but the mix of two different countries is already pushing it we don’t need “Olivanders in Paris” it’s messing with the continuity to much.

These new wands sound super similar to my magic caster interactive smart wands that control the lights in my house. Very excited for the next generation of this!

That wand shop is going to be an infinite money glitch for universal.

I think this dinner review needs context in terms of the price for dinner. The average room at the Floridian is $800 a night and the top club level room is 3k a night. Yes, your comments about the buffet being on the expensive side are spot on, but if you are staying in this hotel for a week, the pricing is probably in line with vacation expectations. As you alluded to, my favorite when I was a Disney AP, was the character breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the Pooh and Tigger breakfast at MK. It was about $75 a person prior to covid, but once again it felt like there was valued attached. We received early admission into the park and the character meets did not feel rushed. No way, I would go to the Floridian just for the dinner experience that you outlined, but I would pay that for a Frozen princess lunch at Epcot. But only if I had not already spent $500 getting into the park for day. 1k for one day admission and one lunch for three people is not going to win any value awards. Bring back the $850 out of state annual pass, and reasonable hotel rooms on campus, and I will gladly fork over $300 for a character dinner for three.

The resort cost is a huge savings at Universal. We spent a week at Surfside for about $650. Same week at Pop Century would have been at least $2200. That’s been a couple years. But I recommend sitting down and comparing. Universal is just more bang for the buck.

Great Video Steve. Its been years since I've been in there. The last time it was Marry Poppins themed as I remember the small carousel horses on top of the wood partitions. The menu was different too but I don't remember what it was but it was definately cheaper. I always love your reactions to food that is good. Cracks me up. It looks like Universal needs to acquire the golf course and other surrounding properties that separate the lands if they want to create resorts and water taxis.

Very excited about this land. A few corrections: There will be characters you can meet, they are students from different schools. (The current lands have a meet and great with the train conductor and the bus conductor with he shrunken head). The ride is on a track and is NOT trackless.
