I had the fiat 124 version.Performance was very good and I did very long distance traveling back in 1975.Probably much lighter.

I love when jez talks about those old cars when they were brand new, talking about how nice and beautiful they were, and all the cool new high tech features of cars in the early/mid 90s. Feels wholesome, satisfying and beautifully nostalgic, and to be fair damn do they actually still look good when they're brand new like that. Something majestic about it. Cheers for uploading this!

Had fun w a Lada 1500s back in the late '80s / early '90s. Fun to drive, reliable & easy to work on. Rust eventually won out but had many miles of happy motoring up till then. I remember our old Lada fondly!

A few years ago, here in Australia, my (now ex) inlaws, bought me a brand new Lada Sumara. However, it turned out to be the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered. The Lada was totally unreliable and broke down a lot. Parts were near impossible to find and most mechanics refused to work on it. Even the tyre size was odd. The only thing that seemed to work was the heater and the radio. After a hellish two years, the engine blew up... seized solid. It wasn't worth the effort to fix it and it ended up in a scrap yard

Unfortunately I had one back in the day. Not very reliable and the 1.6 engine was a bit underpowered.

I have a Lada, a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Corolla. All three have their personalities, of course the best drive is the Mercedes Benz, the Lada is more comfortable than the Corolla but the Lada doesn't turn well in U as the Mercedes or Corolla. Which one I like the best? The Mercedes Benz, which one I like the second? There's a tie between the Lada and the Corolla

I used to love this show as a car mad kid in the 70s and 80s then by the 2000s with Clarkson at the helm it made me wish the internal combustion engine had never been invented

Things end up becoming precisely how they're treated/spoken of. This... specimen (can't bring myself to mention it's name) - *CONSTANTLY* dumping on the car - is bringing the sort of vibes to it that he's directing to it. The car is absolutely fine. Q's _attitude_ on the other hand...
