Just to clarify, Escort Cosworth headlights are NOT a standard Escort mk5 headlights. Genuine ones are really pricey in NOS condition (~300 £ a piece) and are hard to find.

Very nice, incidentally I've been offered the chance of buying exactly the same car and colour 2001 year, 1 lady owner from new, totally original however and its quite quite a big however.... Its done 130k, the car albeit pretty dent free needs a full respray as the paint has faded considerably and the front seats need replacing as they are pretty worn to buggery. She's just spent £1600 on it and she'd take 3 grand for it. I'm just not sure if its worth it ... full respray, new seats later its still a 130k car! I don't know? hmmm... I'm torn.... I really like these cars

First bike i ever had , in 1979 . I loved it , until it rained then thats another story . Tyres were crap back in the day .Not like today . Dont mention the exhaust rusting , forever repainting it .

It was at least as clever as the Citroën DS, FWD, the first hatchback in its class, no grease points an enclosed cooling system and an electrical driven cooling fan and an altenator. It had integrated door handles and no rain gutters This was the car that changed the world, many manufacturers followed the hatchback concept ever since. And the introduction of this TX model, meant a renaissance for the model, tinted windows, a 5 speed gearbox, central locking and electric front windows. I never understand why its main rivals the DS and the 404 Peugeot are appreciated classic cars and you hardly see an R16 Its DNA is in almost every modern car!

You are so funny, how you can describe this car not being that bad, when in reality it needs TOTAL restoration!!!!🤣😂

Awesome car, prefer it in white and standard wheels if the brakes allow 🤙

Ours is 26 years old and we love it. Had to replace the curtains as they were passed their sale by date. Have the original china plates/ cup / saucers and bowls that came with it. Water tank needs seeing to , but we get around that by buying water bottles and using campsites washing facilities,not brave enough to use the shower. We plod along holding up the traffic and give them all a wave as they sail pass.

Had one exactly the same, apart from was a manual, on a B plate, in the sky blue metallic, my first proper car, loved it until my mate left me for dead one night after we'd been out with our ladies, in his red 8 valve GTE MK2. That was when my love for the Astra GTE Mk2 began, had one 8 valve and two 16 valvers - those were the days.

I have to agree. Paintwork when these cars were new was never as good as this. Suspect going by reg no it was a Ford Motor company first owner.

Guys on the face of it very interesting however you’ve got to sort out talking over each other and mumbling. You need a microphone each it’s very difficult with your accents and everybody talking together to watch this and it’s a shame because you have some lovely cars here.would suggest one of you does the whole thing with a private microphone very similar to one of the other competitors that you have

Hi really enjoyed this walk round but I haven’t a clue what you were saying, 🤣 maybe be it’s me or your accent/ excitement/ or a cheap mic?

What a nice car! Why don't they make these anymore? There is progress you will tell me. Yes, but I think I would make a very nice trip with one like that. You don't need dizzying speeds, crazy horsepower and fat tires to enjoy a nice ride.

Beautiful car! My dad had several of those. He used to do full restorations of them as winter projects in New Zealand back in the 1960's to 1980's. He also restored other MG models including the horrible MG 1100...

I had a black XR3 back in 1987 and loved it. I had the chance to trade it in for a mark 4 XR3i or a mark 2 RS2000. I chose the XR3i and regretted it. The mark 4 escort was worse than the mark 3. I should have traded my XR3 for the RS2000 when I got the chance, a decision I regretted ever since. Nowadays I couldn’t afford either the XR3 or XR3i let alone a mark 2 RS2000.

So someone got a later car and swapped the plates to make out it's a MK1 Cooper...which it's plainly not. No wonder it's being sold at auction.
@Barbarapape8 күн бұрын
A very tidy sample. I owned both the Mk 1 and Mk 2 Trriumph 2000 estates and they were great cars with an interior quality way above the average in their day. Rust was their enemy, and this Stag requires som tlc or that lower area door will soon start to sucumb.
