Great podcast. The soca tune was Stageshow Riddim by Skep, used to tear up raves! A great story I went to the record shop for the 1st time in 2002 back when i first heard grime. Guy behind the counter chucked on a few vinyl on the player loud in the shop that he just got. War VIP 4x4 with the green label was one of them, hundreds of vinyl later that was one of the first ones i got. Classic🎶🎶🎶

If YOU trap, YOU don't value yourself, and the people who got you there do not value YOU too ....they only value the income, and YOU are one of the people they're willing to sacrifice 👌🏾

He ain’t the first guy though. Wiley produced Wiley Kat - Year 2000 in ‘99, Eskimo was made in 2000. Jon E Cash early stuff was in 2000, but it just sounded like garage, it was darker but the drum pattern was basic 2 step. DJ Virus - Rude Sting said he produced it in ‘98. Wiley definitely started it like his sound was completely different to garage there was no comparison

Its called the "trap" for a reason once you get in too deep its extremely hard to come out and if you do manage to come out best believe you've had to pay some sort of price leaving you with ptsd. Jumping on the roads is the weakest move ever as well as sheep mentality... Its much harder to sit down think about what you want to do with your life that rewards you with pride money and not looking over your shoulder, make a step by step plan even if it takes years, dont give up when things are hard and when you've got people saying "your never gonna make it" etc etc or when you see people on the roads making quick money n cars but not showing you the heavy price that comes with. So like i said jumping on the roads is weak and IF you do you jump on it for a short time with a clear exit plan in mind and you dont let your ego control you resulting in you being bait and telling this and that person what your doing. Keep your mouth shut move quiet get in get out
