I believe Nvidia helps support these leaks, but with the RTX 50 series, I think the leakers are incorrectly speculating the data they have. It is very clear from the leaks that RTX 5080 will be a cutdown GB202, not the GB203. The GB203 will be RTX 5070. Those reports of 2 slot coolers for the GB202, you have the Professional GPU variants of the GPU that use the full die and the highly potential cutdown RTX 5080, both running around the neighborhood of 300W. The GB202 will not be solely RTX 5090, as the AD102 was not either. The only AD102 that used more than around 300W was the consumer RTX 4090. The GB202 is massive and will obviously have a low yield of full die GPUs. Even cutdown to an "RTX 5090" level will have moderate yields. The RTX 5080 being GB202 is a safety net. Further, GB203 rumored specs don't match up to "RTX 4090" levels of performance, potentially the RTX 5070. This is where I am concerned about listening to only 1 leaker or 2 leakers, or 1 leaker parroting another leaker. We are stuck assuming their speculation, despite all the leaks fit together showing something else. Then there was the 1 leak about the RTX 5090 having 3 PCBs. Thinking about what the source data could have been, the 3 PCBs could have been the Professional Card, the RTX 5090, and the RTX 5080. Instead, people jumped to a conclusion of a single video card consisting of 3 boards, which would be a terrible idea in engineering. My speculation, the RTX 5080 will have 20GB of VRAM, because it needs that for its GDDR7 VRAM to at least match the RTX 4090's GDDR6X VRAM. The core count may be around 12,000, expecting the clock uplift to make up the difference. These are above the GB203's specs.

Looking forward to Doom but yeah Star Wars will be a good one I have enjoyed the last two Jedi games. There were so many games I actually am looking forward to so many. Also Steam has a Flintlock demo that game is fun, it is going to be good and it runs really well.

I'm ok with the RTX 5050 having 8GB of vRAM but the RTX 5090 or 5080? Whatever it's called I think should have at least 20GB of vRAM. If the desktop cards are not getting much more vRAM I'm skipping the 50 series. I've upgraded every generation since the GTX 700 series. I had the GTX 770, GTX 970, GTX 980 Ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080 Ti, RTX 2080 Super, RTX 3070 Ti, and RTX 4070 Ti Super.
