so the beta and gamma ones are basically the same in principle, both use a loose fitting displacer piston

it can done also with gravity, as the gas expands and push the other up, by gravity it fall and push again the second one and the process reapet

Great video and very informative, now I'm gonna go build one and hope I don't blow myself up! Just kinding, I will be careful of course and take precautions

Made of aluminum or copper and oriented right they make great convective heat sinking.

I'm gonna build one and i'm gonna put it in my future miata, to not only increase efficiency by maybe 20% or even more, but to make more power, i guess i'll use it likakindaova heat exchanger or smth, anyways, i want the hot coolant from the engine to pass between the hot piston walls, then pass through a radiator, from radiator to the cold side and then back in the engine. Seems like a cool idea. I wonder how the boreXstroke ratio affects the efficiency
@IndianaIsntReal
@IndianaIsntReal 7 күн бұрын
I too wonder if these could use waste heat from vehicles to improve efficiency, if they're worth it at all. Perhaps you could even drive the alternator with one or at the very least feed some extra air back into the engine like a turbo.

So the cold cylinder isn't necessary? it just adds more powder. Kinda like a turbo but for a sterling engine. Uses the exhaust and turns it into more power. BRILLIANT 😂

Great video, much better explanation than others i found. The Alpha design is really tough to understand still haha
@bobkoure

And for those of us with a background in adibiatic engines, the alpha is the easiest to understand - the gas flows and timing are clearer.

In all your models you need to balanced the wheel, the balls are too small in weight to give a push on the wheel so the balls weight need to be higher to work, Da Vinci was not one of the brightest mind for nothing everything he did was working at some point !! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rpd8hcSL0LzLl6M.html

Very good visualization of heat and airflow and distinguishes the different types very well. Better than any versions I have seen on KZfaq. However, you did not show the regenerators at all. Perhaps you could improve your video by describing regenerators at the end of the video.

Tesla turbine works better if you have air coming in all along its width. Not a small tube of air that only spins a couple of the turbine fans. You need air to push against all the turbine fans not just the ones the air hits.
