I'm sorry, but if you guys think and feel that this has any connection even remotely to what LotR is then it's just sad. All you guys seem to care about is "great CGI" coupled with some epic music. This series so far is mediocre at best. Watchable.. maybe once at best.. but you need to treat it as something completely detached from Tolkien's and the original LotR films work, otherwise it's just pain a to watch under the assumption that this is supposed to be Lord of the Rings related. This is just boom boom woosh cringy AF mediocre stuff and no wonder Amazon spent so much time and effort hiding and manipulating ratings. If you think that this wig wearing Sauron looks amazing.... I think you are the audience that Amazon is targeting and it shows that the quality and depth expectations have dropped to an astonishingly low level. Peace

Did you read the books? If you have then i dont understand how you can think its good ,Galadriel akts like a psycho doesent care about anyone even her elves.. The changeed the characters to make it woke. The orcs dont look good and the had a 1 billion dollar budget, short haired elves that are supposed to be the fairest and wisest creatures. The costumes looks like cheap halloween costumes they slapt on gold material that looks like plastic from China from 20 bucks. The writing is bad they even had to stole some lines from Peter Jacksons movies. And the feminist strong women Galadriel its not enough that she is th wisest and have magic powers and stod up to Sauron in Dol Gundur here she is just a chick with a sword and embarresing the leader of the northern army. Both Liv Tyler and Care Blanchett nailed it the light around them their Strang facial expressions but thats because they are elves Angelica Berings not humans. There are trailers from Games that are waaaaay more better. Its a fantasy world so why change it with wokism and Tolkien is not alive to defend his work. And those that are accusing him if racism is projecting, Elves and men are from thev West and easterlings from the East, the haradrim look North afrikan. But it should be entertainment not political propaganda, Disney+ also destroyed the frencishe just watch Star Wars the old Republic trailers if they would make movies/series like that it would be a massive hit. And argolyte is ultra feminist propaganda they dont care what fans what only their own political agenda. Just compare the costumes in Peter Jacksons movies it looked like real clothes you would were in a middle aged inspired world ,and if you walk through forrests,climb mountains sleep outside what would you NOT ware ,plate armour like psycho-Galadriel climbing a mountain 90degrees full of ice in plate armour and armour gloves pathetic. And the writing is awful Tolkien was a linguist, when Elrond(looks not fair with short hair) asks. Galadriel where have you been and she never answers only give dumb answers. In Peter Jacksons movies every character was perfect for the roll, Viggo,Liv,Cate, Elrond ,Gandalf, Sir Lee Saruman and everybody else but here the picked C actors, you like the evil elf more then Galadriel. And why make her a girl with a sword except feminism she is so much more powerful and they reduced her to a psycho beserk girl with no charisma you actually hate her.And in the books she didnt fight or save the world shes like 10.000 years old so to say she must grow like a character is just BS. The only thing they did right was special effects.

@@aramisone7198 very well said, its simply a failed fan fic if you asked me, I have never seen a desecration of Tolkien's lore like RoP, They really should just remove the LoTR from its title and it can be just as a stand alone fantasy tv shows with elves and dwarves. I guess they need to have Tolkien name as its very well known globally so they can attract viewers for profit, too bad it didn't work as intended as the season 1 flop really badly and it will be the same with season 2. A showrunners who don't care at all to source material and the lore is a recipe for disaster. I am not surprised that the trailer on both season 1 and season 2 got ratioed so badly ...its quite a contrast with HoTD .

This is 300 yrs later. I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft from the first movie with Charlton Heston, The Planet of the Apes (1968). In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for twelve months for a total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. I know her name is Maye in this movie. But she could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus. Just a theory. How cool would that be.

Anders Lassen was a Danish Frogman. Combat divers of the Danish Navy. Fun fact, his majesty King Frederik the Tenth of Denmark did his military service in the Danish Navy. He also undertook the Frogman training. Out of 300 sailors who signed up for becoming Frogmen, King Frederik was one of 4 to complete the training and officially be a part of that group.

The mission this movie is based on is the SOE operation against 3 ships acting as U-Boat supply ships in neutral African Spanish colony of Fernando Po. The leader Gus Phillipps died in a later action in 1942 and the character played by Richson was a Danish man Anders Lassen who later joined the SAS and died winning a Victoria Cross in Italy in 1944. The team also had a lot of West Africans who were serving in the Royal Navy and who were sailors that sailed the stolen ships out of harbour where the Royal Navy was waiting
