Turks/Ottomans were not tolerable towards Christians and in no shape or form can you compare it to anything like today. Ottomans conquered , pillaged and enslaved christian south European countries. In order for Christians to practice their religion under their ruke whose teritory Turks occupied they had to pay very large taxes in terms of goods in order to keep peace and to practice their religion somehow. Otherwise they would have been impaled or killed. Turks were forcefully taking young christian boys from their mothers and taking them to Instanbul , circumsized them and converted them to Islam and made their elite soldiers out of them and sent them back to rule and fight against their own christian families. Just like christians, sephardic jews running from spanish inquisition were settled in Ottoman empire and were also limited to special taxes, no arms, etc, just in order to live. A lot of people (mostly Christians , not so many Jews) converted to live easier, also a lot of woman were raped, pillaged and taken forcefully into the harema and marriages with Turks. So when you see someone like Dr. Oz’s fwatures you can be certain that he has christian/slavic blood in him and not so much of Turkic tribes. He might be a great and eloquent doctor, but I’m a historian 😊

Texas was once part of Mexico. He native Americans DNA isn’t recent, and the Longoria family trace their ancestry to Asturias in Spain! There are many Longoria in south Texas, they came from Tamaulipas and Nuevo León to Texas in the 1700s and 1800s. My grandma is a Longoria, and we have been in Texas for generations. The original Longoria came to northeastern Mexico from Spain in the 1500s, when most of the conquistadors arrive in Mexico. She’s a mix, like most people who trace their heritage to Mexico are. She’s just very proud of her family’s lineage. There’s nothing wrong with that!

I’m similar in that my ancestry is traced to what is now Zapata County Texas 1677. Back then, “Texas”was wild terrain maintained by my ancestors lead by Spain. So, I say I’m 9th generation Texan.

Classy, beautiful and intelligent woman. My husband was born in Jerusalem and grew up in Jordan. My two children are very well versed with their Arabic culture. We visit Houston, Texas quite frequently and there is a rather large Arab community there as well as Dearborn, MI. 💕💕

The Beach Boys Ancestors were also from Sweden. Peggy Lee is Norwegian. So many Hollywood Celebrities US/UK have arabian Blood. Tiffany, Paula Abdul, Casey Kasem (RIP), then in The UK Samia Ghadie Smith is of Lebanese background who has been playing Maria on Coronation Street on and off since 2000, Simone Lahbib (Bad Girls, Wire In The Blood), and her former Co Star Mandana Jones who is Iranian/Britsh.

@@deesee3622 Wow! Thanks for the info! Also Rajwa (The New Crown Princess Of Jordan) attended Dick Clark's Alma Mater Syracuse which was the alma mater of Steve Rubell of Studio 54. Casey Kasem worked for Dick Clark in the 1960's on a show called Shebang.

In America, there were alot of folks of Arabian Blood and I didn't know. Casey Kasem The Legendary DJ who was the Son of Lebanese Immigrants who ran a Grocery Store in Detroit, MI. Tiffany The Mall Pop Singer, The Kardashians and Cher who are Armenian. In The UK alot of Actresses are of Arabian descendant. Simone Lahbib (Helen Stewart) Bad Girls, Mandana Jones (Nikki Wade) who is part Iranian-British, Samia Ghadie Smith (Maria Sutherland) Coronation Street and Andrew Ridgeley (Wham). His Mother is Scottish & His Father is part Egyptian/Italian.

She's also quite an Overachiever. She was part of the first Co-Ed Class to Graduate from Princeton University (Class Of 1974). She also attended Chapin which is next to Dalton one of the Top Private Schools for Girls and then Concord Academy in Massachusetts. Her Children were educated in Washington at The Maret School, and Prince Hamzah I believe attended Harvard.

No one’s saying she’s an asturiana 🙄 her ANCESTOR came from Asturias to New Spain in the 1700s (not recently) and after 3 centuries obviously there has been a lot of mingling (mixing) in her family like he said. I don’t call myself aragonesa because though my ancestors came 400 yrs ago from Aragón I’m mestiza like 80% of Mexicans.

What Mr. Gates is not addressing.. which is upsetting a little bit..LOL The Germans that were in the USA were also discriminated against. Many first generation Germans in the USA were looked down because they had an english German accents.. You can't hide that accent. When USA is upset.. it lets its enemies know it... And innocent people are hurt in the USA..Not justifying it.. just expanding it.. Big wars are ugly.. its not fun...

but there were no internment camps for italian and german americans even though the german bund was active right up to the war germans did experience discrimination during ww1 and after but german pows in the south were treated better than african americans

I’ve been to Spain. There’s very dark Spaniards and are not native. The misconception is that people think Spaniards are white like British, Irish, Scottish etc. But Spaniards are a mix of all Caucasian people: Gypsies, North Africans, Arabs, Romans, Greek, Vikings, Celts, etc. There are Spaniards darker than Eva Longoria, specially in southern Spain. Then there’s very white looking Spaniards too. Plus she must have some native, which is cool too. It’s a good mix. But you would be surprised, there’s very dark Mexicans who don’t have native ancestry (Arab, Phoenician, Celtic Iberian, North African, Guanche, Gitano ancestry){Celtic people from mainland Europe had dark hair and fair to olive skin, kind of like “black Irish” or some Welch people, the ones in Ireland and Britain mixed with Vikings}, and there’s white looking Mexicans with native ancestry. It’s weird how genetics work.

Now Emilio Estevez on the other hand is a perfect example of what a person from Asturias and Galicia looks like not Eva... And not only is she super dark but her features are not that of a Northern Spaniard.
