Hi Justin. Congrats on the LP finish! I'm sure it's not the run you wanted, but it's a tough-tough course. I have a 2 Finishes, 1 DNS, and 1 DNF at LP. Quick question on your chainring setup: Did you run a small chainring with the 58T? Or did you do a 1X with a big range of gears in the cassette? Thanks.

@@bobbymac1972 I ran 58 + 10-33. It was a little too much, I would go 56 instead next year.

What device do you use? Two years ago, I was 57 and training for bodybuilding and endurance motorcycle racing. I was 8% bodyfat and on the Carnivore Diet. I suffered a hybrid form of Refeed Syndrome that landed me in the ER. After that day, my health started to decline fast. Two years later I was about 30% fat and still in the gym, I could no longer do the workouts that I was able to do, due to extreme lactate type symptoms. Even just hitting a small section of woo-de-doos, would make my thighs burn. Last April, I figured out my problem. I needed more Thiamine. My lack of Thiamine was inhibiting Pyruvate Dehydrogenase and pushing Pyruvate into the Cori Cycle. I've been Mega Dosing Thiamine now and my comeback has been profound. I wish I had a meter like yours, so I could have known what my resting lactate was comepared to now.

Yeah, you can see the Ironman RTP here and that I'm basically ranked right outside it. I'd guess I'm "next in line" for the Americans but we'll see. www.ironman.com/anti-doping-testing

Why did you choose to live in Henderson, given the challenging heat?
@justinriele21 күн бұрын
My wife started grad school here as a PA, and we moved from San Francisco. We really like living here and the training is great for 9 months a year. June-August is pretty brutal, but I just stay indoors for bike / run and travel a lot on the weekends to train / race.

Justin (and Lauren!) wonderful chat, thank you! Would you say that LT2 intervals with little rest are the key workouts to building that strength endurance, are there any other workouts you find to be crucial in building this component?
