I moved to Ouray in 1996 until 2002. The 1st year I held the position as Deputy County Assessor. Set foot on almost every inch of the county. Left and moved to Tucson, AZ in 2002 for a much warmer climate.

Hi there - your video was very good but you missed some amazing high points. I do hope that you were able to stop and see them. Just outside of Cimarron is the mining town of Dawson, NM. At one point in time there were over 9,000 people living there - making Dawson one of the largest town in New Mexico. Very little of it remains, but in its hey day it boasted of an amazing baseball team . . . . Hospitals . . . Stores . . . Schools. There is still remnants of an old narrow gauge train track. After three major mining disasters the mine closed down . Take a look at the cemetery in findagrave. Cimarron comes from a Spanish word meaning Wild or Unbroken. The St. James Hotel is one of the most haunted places in New Mexico. There are two New Mexico Daughters of the American Revolution plaques one outside the hotel and one down the road a piece . . . One plaque was placed before New Mexico was a state. Of course there is the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch which is world renowned. Between Palo Flechado Pass and E-town (Elizabethtown) was the home of New Mexico’s first known serial killer . . . You should look him up his name is Charles Kennedy. The family of a friend of mine owned the hotel in E-town. Her family still lives in Eagle Nest. Hope that this adds a little bit of color and information to your base of knowledge.

Just an fyi you mentioned you didn’t know of those were federal or state prisons. All along that road are state. I think there’s 7or 8 to be exact. I know I was in one the very last one on that road. The only federal prison in that area is Florence. There’s also another one in the Denver area but those are the only two federal prisons in Colorado.

My great & grandma and their family grew up in this town. Before they got rid of the houses. I had a cousin who got crushed in the mine as well.

Very interesting seeing all the details of how to load and unload a truck! The fish stuff is probably sticky because of the high fat content. Thank you.

I come back for fish guts? What are you doing? I lost track of you during the big trucker protest, got a job, been offline, now I'm retired...again. Like you. How many times have you retired? KZfaq changed my name from Phil the Stalker to Phil1Stalk, why, I don't know. Be well, my fish gut driving friend. Don't spill no coffee. Looks like you're driving a bit fast there. Still nice views of the countryside.

Hopefully they check to be sure no gas, oil or hydraulic fluids are leaking from those loaders. Otherwise that is going in to the feed :(

Dang you are only about 2 hours from the G's, would have been neat if you all could meet up some time. Is that fish meal stinky?

This is lot like the British Eaton twin splitter box we had on the Parcelforce 44 artics. 4 on the floor and low middle and high ranges for 12 clutchless changes. We all drive autos in Europe now.
