Remains of the Day is one of my favourite books of all time. I haven't read Kindred yet but it's on my current TBR so I'm really looking forward to it after your review. I like the way that you rate your books out of ten, I think that gives a more accurate and fairer rating that the five stars that Goodreads allows.

This was fun and revealing. I actually quite enjoyed The Night Train to Lisbon so I think the translation didn't capture the style.

Choosing five must have been excruciating. What a great mixture though. And of course sharing a book adds to the experience so much. The combination of a good book and a good buddyread is the dream. I was very happy to see Kemal and Memed here.

Congratulations on reaching five enthusiastic years on BookTube. Love that your favourite books are mostly buddy reads and the enjoyment of the buddy reads experience was a recurring theme! Quite a range of book styles there as well.

Berna, I think it’s so important to reflect and look back on our Booktube experiences. I try to remind myself what were my expectations when I started my channel? Have they changed and, if so, why? I’d rather have more conversation in the comments section so I can get to hear other thoughts and get to know people. I love this series! 💛

Happy 5th anniversary! I would definitely be interested in a video of your top five Turkish books translated into English - I think this is a great starting off point for English-language readers like myself who don't know a lot about Turkish literature. As a booktube viewer, Janelle was a favourite of mine too and is sadly missed.

What a fun way to look back at the past 5 years! Interesting to see the variety here, and sometimes it's hard to tell what will be so popular and other times it can be very clear. I would love to see more Top 5 videos about Turkish Authors and translated Turkish books. p.s My end of year 2020 videos also did quite well, I think a lot of us were home that year. That said, my most popular video is a book review that I read in anticipation of a film adaptation: The Story of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang. It has twice the number as the next most popular. Wild!

I think it’s so cool that you read two plays for Jane Austen July. That actually sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll probably try both of them. Even though the one by AA Milne didn’t get as high a rating from you, I’m still intrigued to learn that he was fan. Thank you again for buddy reading with me, I really enjoyed it. 💜
@BernasBookishAdventures

The plays were quite fun to read and compare. A. A. Milne most probably identified with Mr. Bennet and made him a very well rounded character but Christina Calvit focused on Mrs. Bennet and made her the most dynamic 😉

What a mission to watch and compare all of these. 1995 is absolutely my favourite. I have seen them all except the 1967 although some have really faded from my memory.

To be fair, I did not watch any of them this year for the first time but still it was a project that required a lot of time. 1967 version exists in youtube but it was a bit low quality 😏 1995 is certainly the best ❤️

I've enjoyed some Liane Moriarty novels but hadn't heard of that one. The Alienist was excellent. Voyager was great! I hope you're enjoying it so far - that might be my favorite in the series. I just finished book 4, Drums of Autumn, which was also great! Perfect for Big Book Summer! Enjoy your books in August!

Thanks a lot for creating this readathon, I was afraid to include Voyager because of its size and a three month reading time made it perfect. It is a very action packed book so far which I enjoyed very much. Started the Liane Moriarty book and so far it is quite interesting 😎
