You can't you make burst come back slower, at least for wall combos unless you want HC and ino to beat you to death on the corner, HC Specifically is the reason burst comes back so fast on wall slump

Fair point, but I think a good middle ground would be if you only affected how burst would come back outside of wall slump. You can still maintain the wall slump bonus to pushing HC and Ino

The problem is WA+how it compounds with other system mechanics. In a vacuum, bar the HKD on wallbreak, it is not super problematic. But add HKD, taking away burst to the opponent, burst regen for the player that gets wallbroken, RISC buildup and positive bonus to the equation, and it does become too much.

If I had a move that put myself at -17 (but I have access to all defensive mechanics including blocking), to burn half the other guys burst meter, I would use it. I would blue wild assault myself.

It's possible that it isn't working on your friends bc their habitual reactions are beating these options. If you try to first condition them with options that defeat their current habits, and then apply these options, you may find more success!
