I've seen horrible reviews of the product. They say to mount them to the wall, but I'd prefer a working smoke alarm to be honest, you would need 90 of those to put out a couch, and the carbon monoxide would already be at deadly levels before the thing went off

It it's meant to replace a fire alarm. Why would anyone replace a fire alarm with a fire extinguisher?

I think it had an impact on Catholic Schools across the country. We're all brothers and sisters.

OMG… I forgot about the “Mask Years”. Fortunately, the “commander in dementia” can’t remember anything about reinstituting mask mandates & vaccine mandates. Go Trump 2024! Wait… never mind. The communists have mastered election cheating . 🙄

I was a firefighter/EMT for years and KNEW the value of sprinklered structures. When my wife and I built our first house(and current) , I roughed in the electrical and gas black pipe and even ran innerduct and conduit EVERYWHERE for “the future tech”. We were a week pre-drywall and I had no time left to run steel pipe for residential sprinklers. I refused to use CPVC because I was convinced it would cause leak issues. So, I just installed an addressable smoke/fire detection system and let the sprinkler issue die out. That was 26 years ago and I kick myself every day. BlazeMaster products and other CPVC products were really proven at that time. I SHOULD have done it when the house was framed without insulation and drywall. It was only a few $k to do it but my fear was failure and leaks. STUPID LOGIC! Please install sprinkler systems in residential units!!

Why are there not more integrated plumbing/ fire suppression systems featured for single family homes and manufactured homes/ trailers . Well supplied dwellings in rural settings are potently more critical when water supplies are limited and fire departments are more distant. It would be wonderful to give some attention/guidance to These type of dwellings which are more deadly to occupants than many if not most apartment buildings

Excelent, everyone can see how efficient the grenade alarmed the nearby firefighter who quickly rushed to aid with a hose. Technology!

Not sure what this is supposed to show other than that if you wait too long and let a fire get too big, something designed to nip small fires in the bud won't work anymore. If you wait until the car is fully ablaze, your car fire extinguisher won't do it, either. Add to this the evident strong winds, which mean that despite the partial enclosure, the fire is well-ventilated.

Looks like it landed on top of the shed.

I learned that Carbon Tetrachloride (the grenade extinguisher) is supposed to suck all the oxygen from a room where a fire is. Therefore, it would not work in this situation where such a small room is so close to the open air where oxygen is so readily available to burn

I was about to buy a bunch of these fire extinguisher bombs for my workshop and I'm glad I ran across this video. They seem to be a scam or at least give you a false sense of security.

Toss (of grenade) at 2:03. Interesting in terms of showing the limits of this kind & size of fire extinguisher in putting out a fully raging fire, since most demos of this you find on YT only show complete successes.

This was a great effort by the Alsip FD and Chief, they never gave up on their FPW events in their effort to get the fire safety materials normally given out at a face to face open house by trying this "reverse drive by"

I would like to thank all the generous people that dedicated the resources to make The Mission safer. God bless them all, If anyone is interested in the horrific fire that happened on December 1, 1958, you can visit a very fine web site, it is OLAfire.com. It is a vast resource of information.
