Did you have approval to fly over the Reservoir? It’s a restricted area and drone flying is banned as it’s an SSI. See Drone Assist for further information.
@shadowofthegardener2 ай бұрын
"Drones are not permitted on any Anglian Water Park without the prior written consent by Anglian Water Services Ltd." The drone wasn't on their Land. It was 120m in the sky. Nor was it's TOAL from property/land; Anglian Water own. The TOAL was from public land & spaces/places. And flew through public air space. In VLOS. Controlled by the CAA, not owned NOR controlled by Anglian Water. The Drone IS insured with Public Liability. Registered and marked with legally required details. With ZERO FRZ issues on the Drones app, and Zero issues with TOAL due to SSI on same app. SSI's are not necessarily FRZ's. If it was RED zoned; the Drone wouldn't have gone up. It wasn't. Cottesmore/Barnack/Wittering will be FRZ'd and Red zoned. (Aircraft taking off/Landing/controlled air space/low flying aircraft/Military controlled/Restricted air space.) Rutland water is not. (Which is why so much footage and flights are available to view and enjoy.) No approval needed unless I want to take off from land they own and control, no issues to the SSI. (Dog walkers, cyclists and walkers are more of a problem in this respect than a drone at 120m high. Which I am fairly sure you are well aware of.) Please see ALL the other drone flight footage from BOTH Rutland water, and Grafham Water. Available on KZfaq and many other sources. Hope you had a lovely weekend, enjoyed the weather and the Northern Lights if you caught them. & that you caught some of the other drone footage of the Northern Lights. Taken over Rutland water & it's air space; taken by other drone pilots enjoying the air space and scenery. Take care, fly safe. (:

@@shadowofthegardenerthanks for taking the time to provide a full reply. My understanding was that flying over a SSSI was not permissible, especially if it’s a SSSI due to the potential impact on wildlife, such as birds. However, I’m sure you’ve done your homework and it’s good to know that drone flying over the reservoir is permitted within CAA legislation.

@@gl2773 Depends on the SSI and what it is in place for. & any responsible drone pilot is going to behave and fly safely and appropriately, respecting nature. As 9 out of 10 times; that's why we are in the air. To capture it or film it. I wouldn't fly near the Ospreys nesting sites; for obvious reasons. Also because they don't interest me; Red Kites are another matter though. :) & they are known for allowing you to fly with them if you know what you are doing and they are happy for you to share their space. If not; stay on the ground and well away; or know how to get your drone down fast. 😂 😂

Kings and Queens of Britain The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy, in which the monarch shares power with a constitutionally organized government. The reigning king or queen is the country’s head of state. All political power rests with the prime minister (the head of government) and the cabinet, and the monarch must act on their advice. The table provides a chronological list of the sovereigns of Britain. Sovereigns of Britain Kings of Wessex (West Saxons) name dynasty or house reign 1 Athelstan was king of Wessex and the first king of all England. 2 James VI of Scotland became also James I of England in 1603. Upon accession to the English throne, he styled himself "King of Great Britain" and was so proclaimed. Legally, however, he and his successors held separate English and Scottish kingships until the Act of Union of 1707, when the two kingdoms were united as the Kingdom of Great Britain. 3 The United Kingdom was formed on January 1, 1801, with the union of Great Britain and Ireland. After 1801 George III was styled "King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland." 4 Oliver and Richard Cromwell served as lords protector of England, Scotland, and Ireland during the republican Commonwealth. 5 William and Mary, as husband and wife, reigned jointly until Mary's death in 1694. William then reigned alone until his own death in 1702. 6 George IV was regent from February 5, 1811. 7 In 1917, during World War I, George V changed the name of his house from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor. 8 Edward VIII succeeded upon the death of his father, George V, on January 20, 1936, but abdicated on December 11, 1936, before coronation. And so on...

We currently run 2 535LK units, a third will be joining our fleet soon enough. You're not wrong, epic bits of kit. I think the only attachments we don't have, is the Blower & Dethatcher; as we have larger/more powerful & dedicated tools/machines for those tasks. For everything else, the 535LK's have it covered. & the 535's sound much better than the "pop pop" noise of the Stihl version. XD

Big fan of Stihl and have been using the fr350 for 20+ years or so. cracking bit of kit for my needs and its paid for itself many times. 1 replacement drive shaft, 1 carb, and I don't know how many auto heads. Bumping does tend to wear them down over time but no issues with buying new replacements for the job it does. Thanks for sharing yours.
I had enough of the faff and wearing of plastic heads/ bump heads. The link I replied with, are what we now use. & they are awesome. Why bother with only 2 strands, when you can deploy 16... ;)

Next time make your videos around noon to minimize shadows on the point of interest. Your shadow cast is so long it covers up much of the evidence you are trying to exhibit And your camera is WAY too far away from what we want to see, the point of interest should occupy no less than 1/3rd of the frame,

I run 2 of the 535LK's, not with a blade though, too much vibration with split shafts. Have all the attachments other than the blower one, as not much use for it. :D Ditto, always the first tool checked onboard the van for the day.

@shadowofthegardener2 жыл бұрын
I can't take credit for coming up with it, as I saw someone else doing the same on another KZfaq video & thought exactly the same. It is genius! Once you get it set up right it gives you just enough float to make life a lot easier keeping the line head or blade just where you want it (So it floats at a given height without much input from yourself once set correctly.) Also adds a little bit of swing/give, to bounce the line or blade up or down without much effort needed when you need to smooch up or down just a little bit to raise the cut or lower it for some precise work; or that one bloody weed that always seems to be at an odd angle or height!

My opinion on the machine, it's epic. Hands down the best strimmer/brushcutter I've used. Replace the standard Stihl cutting head unit with an Oregon Universal strimmer head unit (www.amazon.co.uk/Oregon-110980-Universal-Aluminium-Trimmer/dp/B00C7R5E1E), running 16 strands of 2.4mm line & it will devastate almost anything. ;) What it doesn't obliterate with 2.4mm line, you can use up to 3.4mm line or switch out for a metal mulching blade etc and finish up. ;)
