Hello my friend first thank you for your video and your effort, I wanted to ask you something, answer if you have time. I have an ESC Hobbywings 120a model quicrun 10bl120g2. My question would be with the stock escap out 1 cable (4 color) but there is a plug with 3 colors on channel 2 and a second plug with 1 color (yellow) on channel 3. With hobby winds there is only one plug ( 3 cables). Where should I do that in? Channel 2? I am new and I don't know myself so well. Mille Grazie from Italy

Hi Chris, I just watched this video and since I ordered one of these boats (I actually ordered the carbon fiber design with the full transom hardware upgrade) I've been watching a lot of videos for this model. I haven't found any videos where they've explained which 3s and 4s batteries they're using and what battery dimensions fit in the boat. Also, what brand, how much mAh and C rating and speed test runs with mph readings for each. This is information I would find useful. I am afraid to order batteries not knowing if they will fit, if they're safe for the ESC, motor, etc. I don't know who to ask, which is why I'm writing this. Perhaps you may have the time to answer some of my questions? This will be my first rc boat and I recently bought a couple rc cars which I had trouble finding the same information about batteries for. I put a lot of time on research and money into my Arrma Vorteks with batteries, customization, and upgrades and it's been a fun adventure, but seemingly with all my rc crafts, I come to the same issues when it comes time for battery selection. It doesn't seem to matter which model, whether it be my plane, cars or boat, the videos I watch don't cover enough information on batteries. I also have a Traxxas Aton drone, but fortunately, Traxxas gives battery information directly on their site... with the unfortunate limitation to their own proprietary batteries. Anyway, if you happen to read this, any wisdom you may possess regarding batteries would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly and keep it fun!

@@deweythomas5188 so the battery that comes with this boat is 1800 mah 3s so I would stay close to that! And the reason being is the size of the battery will matter. The bigger the battery you put in that boot it's libel to affect the performance. I would probably go no higher 2200mah. As far as the c rating the higher, the better! I would go with CNHL batteries which can be found on Amazon. I have found that these batteries pack a lot of punch and are fairly affordable! I hope this helps ...please like and subscribe
@deweythomas518811 күн бұрын
@bashmasterRC Thanks for your reply. Actually, the one I'm getting comes with a 2500mAh 3s. It's advertised as 4s compatible. I'm not sure what the ESC is rated for, but most of the 3s batteries I'm able to find with either the stock XT60 plugs or a Deans T-Plug only have like 2200mAh. Unless I go up to like 5200mAh, batteries are difficult to find. I did however, find some Zeee batteries with 4s 3300mAh with 50c and Zeee with 3s 5200mAh with 50c. The batteries have dimensions of 131×43.5×29 and weigh 348g for the 4s and 132×43×25 with a weight of 343g on the 3s. I watched a battery comparison video where the guy did some extensive testing and one of the things I got out of it was that the heavier batteries perform better and provide a longer runtime. My main concern is the dimensional size. I don't know if the hull size is different, they look about the same in the photos on the Amazon site, but it's difficult to tell with the carbon fiber appearance. No one provides the dimensions of the batteries or the dimensional capacity of the battery compartment/tray for most, if not all models. That's where ordering batteries gets complicated, especially before getting the model in my hands. At that point, at least I can take measurements myself, but if I wait until it arrives, I will only have one battery to use, which makes a trip to a body of water not worthwhile from where I'm located. See, I also ordered one of these boats for my nephew as a surprise gift. We're planning a camping trip sooner than the batteries will arrive if I don't order soon, so knowing what will fit into the boats is basically the information I need. Thank you for giving me the mAh information though. That's also helpful, but I guess it's a little different since my boat is coming stovk with the 2500. I don't know how much higher is safe for this boat. Since I ordered one boat from AliExpress, it will take longer to arrive. I went ahead and ordered the second one from ScAm-azon, so it should arrive tomorrow (Friday), so I guess I can take measurements then, but yeah, do you think a 3s with 5200mAh will be ok, or do you think it would burn up the ESC? I do take temperature readings after each run to try to make sure I don't cook the electronics. There is so much information, it's mind boggling! Keeping it fun!

There are a few ways to get speed. One is voltage and gearing! Along with a few other parameters, like KV and tire diameter, etc. so if you're looking to get 40 mile an hour, I would go up on your pinion gear! Start there that's your cheapest way
