Very smooth! Just tried this with my Dutch Mannlicher M.95 (1916) and Gewehr 88 (1890). Even my Steyr Kropatscheck 1886 does this, it's 138 years old. They all have Mannlicher actions. It worked on all 3 rifles, they are original military rifles. Very smooth actions. Didn't know about this trick until now.

Thank you for this tutorial. I was considering buying a 41 deringer but put off by the already loaded ammo. The rimfire specific reloading kits are expensive as heck, and look like nothing more than Lee hand held tools. I reload for centerfire and figured there was a way to do it. Great info.

Damn! I did not know that was even possible!! Ive handled both an Arisaka with a matching bolt and a Mannlicher Schonauer, the Schonauer was smoother, thats because the Arisaka was fairly beat up and is in need of polishing.

The MS was hand finished from 1900 to at least 1940. That's why they are so smooth but also why they were discontinued in that form. Too expensive.

Gravity-operated Bolt Action Rifle, I never thought I'd see a bolt action basically close itself. Gives "Self-loading Rifle" a new series of guns under it.
@-oiiio-3993 Жыл бұрын
This is done on an empty chamber with empty magazine. The precisely machined Austrian MS action (particularly pre WW2), handle centered on bolt (balance), absence of drag with Schoenauer magazine combine to make the MS incredibly smooth.

Many think that W. Richards is Westley RIchards. W. was Westley's cousin. And Belgium messed things up by selling cheap guns marked W. Richards trying to capitalize on the Westley name. They sold A. Greener and others as well.
