Capacitor needed replacing. 15 pounds part! Learnt the hard way.

My zafira broke down on motorway and RAC said timing belt is snapped. When taking it to the garage, mechanic confirmed belt is intact but car is not starting. Will start by changing the fuses as all efforts to start the car (jump starting, new battery etc.) has failed. Also, my name is Md. Abul Khair, very similar name to you so maybe we're cursed 😐

Cheers my man. Having the same problem, some days it's ok, others it takes 5 seconds of nothing with the key turned before it'll suddenly fire. I'll get this looked at.

Mate your a life saver and saved me alot of money for a new starter on my zaf vxr, as that started to give me a few problems where it over fuelled, drove erratically, the light on the boost gauge flickering and clicked once or twice before it fires up and after checking this it turned out my relay was slightly out so pushed it back in and now the car feels 100 times better 👍👍

My zafita has the same trouble..I’ve changed the starter motor & the relay & still won’t start..there is a clicking come form the relay’s when the ignition is on & the whole dash is flashing? I’m thinking maybe it’s the whole fuse board burnt out

Thank you, i will try as have exactly same problem , was at mc donalds drive thro i switched engine off whilst waiting , as went to switch back on it wouldnt even crank just dead silence lol had to push car round the drivethro lol

Handy to know, mine keeps doing that lately, all lights on and no turn or attempt to turn, usually starts on the second key turn though but I’ll check it out cheers for this

Today, i've decided to buy a new starter motor. Before doing that, i saw your video and go directly to the car to check that relay which was a little bit out from normal/assembly condition. I've pushed it and now the car starts. Thank you very much for sharing this video!😀

Abdul have you read any codes? Is there any connection between abs light on continuously? I have got abs light for few miles then when I restart car, I have seen what you showed.

I faced the same issue! The problem was with the starter solenoid getting "stuck" because of old grease. It just gums from time to time. That's why you hear the "click", it tries to engage the starter head on the manifold. The fix is simple, you have to tap the solenoid and the starter with the back of the screwdriver or a small rubber hammer. On the Astra H 1.7CDTI the solenoid together with the starter is located under the oil cooler radiator, somewhere on top left of the battery. Use a powerful flashlight, it's a bit cumbersome to see but it can be found after a bit of search. Good luck!

Stop moaning at least you got your cargo. People in other districts wait MONTHS just to get it through customs whereas in Sylhet it much faster. I use them all the time and compared with the 1980s it's heavenly smooth. Even ppl in Chittagong wait 3 weeks for air cargo clearance..Dhaka it's about 2 weeks
