Hello, My Friend! Thank you for posting this video. I'm not sure if you or any of your viewers have heard this before but may I offer you an alternative opinion of what the true sin of Sodom was that caused it to be destroyed? Let me preface this by saying I'm legslly blind so, if there are misspellings or punctuation errors this is why. I apologize about these in advance. When the two angels disguised as men first appeared inside the city limits of Sodom they immediately caught the attention of the local townspeople. They likely looked out of place, as if they were lost. For this reason, they were chased down because they were seen as strangers breeching the gates of a tightly knit community. When Lot realized these young, msle newcomers were being so viscuiusly chased by the men of the town who had no reasonably articulable suspicion of them doing anything wrong, he moved for them to follow him into his house where he offered them refuge. When the men began to bang on Lot's door, and they shouted "Let Us Knoe Them", he offered to them his daughters which they declined. On the surface, many readers see this as being dur to them being homosexuals, but i offer to you this alternative; Lot's daughters coukdnt satisfy the townsmen's request because they weren't foreigners being sheltered in one of the licals homes; They sll knew each other before this point. The only people currently in the town who they don't know are the two angels disguised as men beyond that door. So, knowing what needed to be done, the angels tell Lot, his wife and his daughters to run out the back door as fast as they can to the next town and to not look back lest they turn into a pillar of salt, like we know happens to Lot's wife. We know from historic, extrabiblical text that a scene similar to this happened in towns all across the world on all 7 continents for centuries before the compilation of the Torah and the book of Leviticus. When foreigners were caught in their town it was common for the overseers of the town to find them, interrogate them, ask why they're there to see how compatible their way of life is with the current ways of the town. It was also common for them to be brought to the town square and for all their clothes to be removed and for sexual dominance to be forced upon them, kind of as a firm of primal initiatjon similsr to the way the elder dog of a pack will assert his dominance over a new member of the pack so he knows his place as the lesser of the bunch. Thanks for readng my unnecessarilly long comment through to the end snd i hope it's inspired you to consider this slightly different approach to such a common story.
