Not sure why Shioda is considered aikido, he studied when it still was daito ryu jujutsu, never studied after the war when "it" became aikido. this is not a value judgement, Shioda is a master in his own right and modern aikido can learn from it, but i feel it should be called daito ryu aiki jujutsu or similar.
