No, we use the original poprivet holes, no need to drill new holes..

There is something called stopDrill . Is a plastic cover for your drill bit that allow you to select the depth of the hole and stop Your drill to go further... Worse case you can use some fuel hose cut to length if you are really not into that 😂 Don't slam your ruler to the ski or your drill. Bit to the ruler

Thanks old mate, your advice will come in handy. We use a collar on the drill bit as a stop currently, but it tends to move after a while. Will give the hose idea a go on the next installation. Thanks

So it looks like on the ones I just go in that the ss rails have to bend a little bit to conform to the slight bend/curve of the hull fiberglass which does not run in a straight line front to back, right? Actually, it looks like the ss rails are have their curve opposite than the way the boat hull is curved??? Is that right?? Or are we just looking at warping from when the welded studs were welded on.

Hey Bill, the gunnel forms the bracket as you bolt it up. It's a very slight curve and the hols in the Collars are slotted to accommodate the curve. You just have to check the you install the bracket level as illustrated in the video, use a square to get the hole sizes same hight.

@@Jetskifishing-aus That is interesting because if I run the sight along the bracket itself, it is not straight, but has a curve in it - almost looking like was factor bent/shaped to match the curve of the hull. In order to install, though, I will be having to flexing against this curve. Do the rails come curved a bit, or are they straight to begin with. Again, mine curve opposite the curve of the hull. Looks like to can counter-flex them to match while doing fit-up but, I was just wanting to make sure I wasnt doing something wrong.

The brackets aren't straight, they have a curve in them from the welds and bender. You can straighten them by hand on a flat service to make the installation a bit easier. They were designed to bend and form with gunnels, as most gunnels have a slight bend in them.

Hey mate, no not at all. You can strap it with the hooks at the bottom on the tie down points and the strap at the top behind the bin.

Lekker boys, new to the JetSki fishing family, just bought the Seadoo fish pro sport with extra long range fuel tanks and going to have a go at Marlin and Blue fin Tuna here on the NSW south coast at Bermagui. Lekker to hear the taal and accent, enjoy boys. Any tips for a beginner👍

Hey Bill, the mounting bracket comes with 10 stainless steel bolts welded to it and the Collar attaches to them with M6 stainless nuts and washers.

I saw that part but what I'm wondering is is there some kind of a groove or a slot in the flotation device? I could not see any groove or slot in the side of the flotation device because that was next to the ski body itself. How is that actually done. I am wondering how I mount those downward-facing studs and screw them onto the flotation?

@@billjenkins1535 yes, the Collars have a mounting plate with slotted holes inside of them that are used to bolt on to the mounting bracket.

Very nice video , I live in Florida and have your collars on my waverunner and it makes fishing in the Gulf of Mexico much safer with the rolling waves that we have here when pop up thunderstorms move in ! PS. Thank you for your product !

It's not just foam, it's CNC cut buoyancy foam with stainless steel reinforced support brackets inside and covered with a thick polyurea rubber coating finished of with EVA marine decking foam. All of this is done in house in Australia.

Hi Can you use your collars to add bouyancy and extend the length of a jetski to beyond 3.75m so you can go beyond 5 Nautical miles from the coast?

Yup …all the amenities and more…it’s not a boat , loaded down especially in the rear ever tried getting back on from the back ?… or even from the side ?… ski will tend to stand nose up and roll over…I’ve loaded my fish bag 1/2 way on my 3 person ski fishing by myself with only 2 poles even with a high capacity ski and large deck putting weight on rear corner it wanted to roll …it was so off balance it porpoised all the way bac in to shore…when I got to shore I entered the water and climbed back on the rear and literally stood the ski up in the air it then wanted to roll to side…took some fish out ( tuna ) until i was able to climb back on from rear safely…and with margin because i did it in calm water…tried from side loaded the ski wasn’t having it…my other Freind had a large tuna on his sled in a bag 19 miles out in the pacific .. he got rolled …with multiple tries he wasn’t able to roll it… detached fish bag sled and was able to get it back upright…although he has put extra straps to secure seat and hatches he got a lot of water in engine compartment…luckily it started ….a warning to you j/skiers ..it’s a great platform to fish from but remember when you start putting a lot on rear deck especially coolers with nominal weight make sure you’re able to get back on from rear or side, know the limitations before you head out…rule of thumb is the more amenities you got the more top heavy it becomes and the less chance you’re goin to roll it back over if it’s bolted down…being safe is having fun 👍🏼
