I feel like this is missing content. I used to watch this on VHS when I was a kid and I remember there being a hillclimb and an obstacle course. They even reference and show the obstacle course at 1:23:58.

Not a fan of these overproduced programs. Too much editing out of the runs. This is a 2 hour highlight reel.

I like that we got some nice old Jeep’s and a samurai in this one, I grew up around samurais a lot and there’s no stupid 4 door jeeps that we see on yt today... the good ole days are still with us

Wonder if he overbored that 454 anymore after he rebuilt again. Can't believe he didn't use a snorkel. Seriously 4 feet of water at least and you're hitting it fast so what the heck did you expect. Wonder how many rods he bent? My guess is 8, between the dumping water in it while it was running and then trying to start it hydrolocked I'm guessing he bent all of them.

Having 5psi of oil pressure doesn't mean you are running slow it means that you need tighter bearing clearances. Damn that would bother the hell out of me.

The good days of TTC. So much better then the fancy performance rigs of today. I love how it used to just be whatever backyard creation would show up to these.

Yep! Still fun to watch. Back when most of the entries are actual real trucks or jeeps and not tube chassis money machines. I’m not against the tube chassis rigs, I just think there should be a class setup to not pit a tube buggy against a street driveable rig. Maybe have a state trooper DOT inspect them before they can run. Not the AZ anything with lights kinda inspection either

This was when TTC was the best! I used to have all my friends vote when the issue came out for the qualifiers & send in my ballot based on who got the most votes from them. Loved it for over a decade, but kinda quit getting into it about 4-5 years ago. They all became super built/same rigs with different bodies & it wasn't fun anymore. I suppose it just ran it's course of what it could be. But thanks for posting this from the golden years, this was awesome!

Yeah the diesel challenge series is going the same way. The guys don't build it themselves anymore they buy it built and installed. Takes the fun out of watching it because it's about who has the most sponsors or deepest pockets.
