Good Day, The Maverick has a closed magazine tube at the front. Extensions will not work on those shotguns.

I had to cut the spring down to a little under 22inchs on my 590a1 18.5 inch 6 round...now 8 round with the +2. Feeding now feels lighter but still feeds well so all good. I installed a kicks buck kicker extended choke and it fits nice and flush.

I have a Tokarev USA 12 ga Automatic. Has synthetic stock with a rubber butt plate! I don’t see any holes in the Butt plate to take off? Any help? Seems glued in pretty tight don’t want to damage rubber buttplate?

Sometimes the rubber butt pad will have two very fine cuts in it that are just large enough to let a screw and screwdriver pass through. Use a bright light an press on the butt pad where the screws might be. Take a good look. Otherwise it may be molded in such a war that there might be a ridge around the perimeter of the butt pad that fits into a groove on the inside of the stock. I am not familiar with that model. Those are just my suggestions.

@@04BlueSmoke I took the sling holder screw out on bottom of stock an the butt plate is held in with that screw an the top end is wedged under a slot so when cantilever an push bottom in the screw holds buttplate in!

I just bought a Stevens 320 with a pistol grip and 18 1/2” barrel. Can I slide a magazine plug inside the spring to limit the capacity to two shells and use it for duck or pheasant hunting?

Good Day, You must gently pry or pull the old spring retainer out of the magazine tube. This is a bit difficult. Take particular care not to bend or deform the end of the magazine tube when doing this. If the retainer is split and has two holes in it use a split ring pliers to squeeze together the split as you pull upward. Try to rock the retainer back and forth. Wear safety glasses! The spring is under tension and will shoot out of there once the retining cap is off.

I just installed a +1 mag extension on my 590A1 and it sticks out 3/4" past the muzzle. It looks ridiculous. I'm really disappointed. (I didn't get it from S&J Hardware. Probably a different make. Or else my mag tube is a different length.)

You have parts for emperor pump ? Mine jams shells nose down unless racked fast and hard. Any ideas what the problem is ?

My 320 is great. My emperor. Not so much. Jams on loading get hung up then will go. But the follower looks the same as yours. I may want to try yours though with the spring. Mpx12

Stinks. falls off. will not go in the way he does it. you would have to dremel room. I sent mine back . don't waste you time just get the larger release. it's easy to install. you'll be sorry

Can’t get the magazine tube to screw on all the way, threads still visible. Figured out problem, needed to push follower up with the spring, they were catching .

Follower only works with the S&J Spring. They sell the followers alone without the spring and DON'T tell you that. Follower needs a spring with a tapered end and they are very hard to find. I couldn't even buy one on the S&J website.

Biggest piece of garbage you could possibly buy. Save your money. I would go into all of the problems you can expect, but you can research that for yourself. We won two of these at a raffle. One of them fired exactly ONE ROUND before it died. The trigger would not reset. The second one fired maybe 25 rounds before the stock started coming loose. It’s an extremely poorly made shotgun. Loading and unloading is also idiotic. Beware.

Must be using the stock follower not a S&J. Your not using the Special magazine spring that S&J supplies with the kit. They are tapered to fit into the poorly designed S&J followers' What a bunch of BS. It's called "bait & switch"

So you are saying that the entire spring is tapered? I bought the follower as a stand alone piece. I could not find anything on your web site or videos indicating that I needed to buy a spring also. All your site said was that it fit a Mossberg 500 shotgun.That's why I bought it and it doesn't work.@@04BlueSmoke

If that's an S&J follower being used, keep in mind that a 12 gauge spring does not fit inside it. You have to stuff it in with a small screwdriver. It deforms the spring and seems like it could cause reliability problems.The follower just floats freely in the mag tube if you install it the way it's done in this video. He just tossed it down the tube and the spring just sits on top of it (not in it). I tossed it in the trash. A very poor design. It's also expensive.

The springs that are included with the kits have tapered ends. They do fit inside the follower perfectly. Some gun manufacturer mag tube springs do not have tapered ends. That may not fit correctly.

My shotgun is a new Mossberg 500, the magazine tube spring is stock. I was sold a follower that is only compatible with the S&J spring. They sold me the follower alone and nowhere does it indicated that it is not compatible with the stock Mossberg spring. They leave that fact out on their website and videos. @@04BlueSmoke

Just got one of these to install on my new 500 with a stock spring . The cylinder wall thickness of the S&J follower does not allow for the spring to fit easily inside it. The inside diameter is much smaller than a 12 gauge. The stock follower and the aluminum type, allow the end of the spring to easily fit inside. I needed to stuff the spring end into the S&J follower with a small screwdriver. The follower seems to work but deforms the spring. I don't like this design at all and it also costs more than most. Seems like it might cause a reliability problem. This problem should have been obvious to the manufacturer. This follower is getting tossed in the trash.

Got my adapter a few weeks back after calling and talking to Scott. Answered all my questions so took a chance on my first gen Charles Daly Field Tactical 12g. Worked as described. Adapted a Bkackhawk Knoxx for an Remington 870. Looks and feels a lot better for my small frame.
