Jim had no tank, he was gassed a couple of minutes in, too much muscle and no enough cardio, it all slows down to the slowest guy.

Funk copied Robinson in the early 70s who did the uppercut and butterfly Supplex much better. Robinson at the time had a full head of hair and a British accent which got over with the ladies well as he looked like a wrestling version of Tom Jones who was the rage of the day. Jack Brisco by 74 looks like a shot wrestler physically and both are extremely boring and sloppy in the ring. This type of grappling would never go in Verne's AWA. If you want to see a far superior match watch Gagne vs Robinson in 1974, The quality is much much better. Verne in his 60s was a much better performer than Funk. And Robinson was one of the finest ring wrestlers and acrobats to ever perform. Both were thinking wrestlers and would finish their matches with a reversal on the finisher of the opponent. Something only Bret Hart became a master of decades later.

I used to watch wrestling in the 70's on wttv 4 out of Indianapolis Indiana,Bobo was on there alot, and I remember seeing Andre on the cover of wrestling magazines, and thinking who's that guy? Because he never was on the local wrestling they showed in my area.

I was never a Kerry fan. Never liked his gimmick or face. He was bodied up and that was all. Sue me. Ric > Kerry

My brother and I would take our dad to these big wrestling events when they came to town. It was always a great time. The size of these men is incredible...

This was before Kerry lost his foot. After he started wearing the fringe boots to hide his lack of mobility and how the prosthesis didn't flex naturally.

These two always had such good matches. I love unearthing these AWA and NWA title matches from the 70s and 80s that took part in Japan. The crowd and atmosphere is so unique. Love the Japanese commentary for more authenticity

The infamous "10 lbs of Gold" NWA belt is the GOAT of belts... I hate that it was replaced by the "Big Gold Belt" because of the comparison to the AWA belt...
