Total beginner to Python and programming here. I wrote a program using Python after 3 months of learning that completed a 30+ hour task at work in 2 minutes. The program is based on basic Python and Pandas. It took me like 2 weeks to complete it because I was flipping through textbooks and reading online a lot. I doubt I could say the same learning a low-level language. Yeah, maybe it would run in like 30 in seconds in a low-level language instead but at the end of the day who cares? Reducing something that takes 30 hours to 2 minutes as a total beginner is fantastic and it was fun to write.

You can't program in Linux, it's not a programming language. It's an operating system.

anyone here who's worried about making a strong password... don't bother, i know that sounds insane but at&t just leaked not only everyone's passwords but also socials so it's much much more likely that a company gives out your password because they were "hacked" then you acutally getting hacked

Hey, I was a subscriber awhile back but the reason I unsubscribed is because you got out of coding and it was more personal blog like... which I didn't personally like. If you are back to coding, I'm in man, keep it up!

What you have would be great as an application/program perhaps paired with some sort of social management platform. I actually was playing around coding such a platform a while ago and after watching this I should pull it off the shelf and do a bit of work on it.

I'd recommend writing your U.I code before your business and state logic It will help you structure your project in the long run. Also, you could have just used the stop_watch_timer package that would have saved you a lots of time =)

This is my first time seeing flutter code. I write React/Next, and Svelte using typescript everyday. Flutter is like reading Chinese to me…. But, maybe it’s just because it’s new to me. :)

you struggle with the same as I do as a self-taught, and you've recently experienced what I experienced 6 years ago, which is the challenge of getting back into programming after some time with no lines written, but over time, the issues will decrease, efficiency will increase, and the need for regular help will decrease a lot I experienced the lack of understanding the possibilities a lot when I started, as I didn't know if x was possible at all, didn't know if the language had built-in solutions for y task, and I had no idea why z happened in a lot of cases. all of these cases are extremely rare now as of now, I don't write a lot of code, but I learn by helping a friend thru university, which happens to be my prefered way of learning, and seems to be extremely effective, and in some cases, my friend tries to develop something unrelated to university, like simple games, and that's when I think it's fun to try developing the same game, but for comparing with his code, just to see how different it can be done with same results, and for experience your biggest weakness is mine too, I wish a day was lasting longer, as I easily could be awake 20 hours, and sleep 6-7 hours, which doesn't fit very well into a day of 24 hours

Hey Kal, I couldn't help but notice how similar our routines are, I too am currently learning Spanish but I'm using an app called Language Transfer. I have also been using Sam's meditation app for so long now but have been consistent for around a month or two, I also read before going to bed and guess what I am also a software engineer and have previously had 2 years of experience building stuff with Flutter and Firebase. I'm honestly really enjoying your content, and it feels nice to find people who share the same interests and have a similar lifestyle. Its good to see you're back!
