I really love the Basilisk reload animations. Having a dedicated animation for every state the cylinder can be in is perfection.

With regards to 5:57, that's a problem I have with the "TR-76 Geist" (Malyuk) from MW II, although maybe it's because I don't necessarily understand how the gun works. But whenever you see the operator interact with the magazine there doesn't seem to be any form of actual mag release taking place, at least based on where their hands are during those animations. It just looks like the magazine just falls off when it needs to.

Something I learned about the Nagant Revolver in BF1 it’s completely random how the character removes the sent casings rather he just shakes them out, pokes them out from the front, or uses the op-rod

A reason why Vanguard reloads were probably in this is due to the fact they were doing tactical reloads in a WWII game.

That stripper clip being loaded clipping through the scope made me think. Obviously if they did, it didn't work, but did they ever try to make a curved clip to load bolt actions like that that have a scope on and get around single loading? Like that curves out? Any gun history people know? That feels like a thing someone would have tried at some point.

1:14 As a milsurp enthusiast, that hurts to look at. The standard magazine for an SKS has no independent means of retaining the rounds. When you pop it open, the rounds just dump out. Would have been much better served by making it an SKS-D variant that takes AK magazines. Edit: Just realized that these are based on the John Masen magazines. Carry on. Still kinda cursed tho because stripper clips are just better if you're sticking with a 10 round mag.

The garand besides not having a ping shouldn’t need to have bolt manually pushed forward. It should do that automatically

idk anything about guns but the shotgun with a cylinder is something i'd find belieavable in doom, but not very reliable irl, may explode or something like that, while i cringed HARD at the flintlock musket being reloaded like THAT, i've been playing some games that uses that old stuff and damn, got me like, the way it reloaded that thing wouldn't shot at all and shouldn't even work at all! it's witchcraft to me and i'm wrong as heck about knowledge of guns!

The M1 from CoD WW2 wasn't even that bad, M1s can be loaded like that assuming the bolt chooses not to ride over the first round after releasing your hand OR it's one of the well-maintained M1s where if you maintain constant pressure on the first round in the clip, it won't launch the bolt over your thumb.

They mostly did dirty on LMG's cuz : the rounds are still there but the player just dumps the remaining rounds thinking those were empty ones
