That is awesome! When I was a kid, "Explorers" was one of my favorites, too. I always wished I could build a ship like the Thunder Road for real.

Can I mix the tenacious with standard water washable elegoo resin? My parts are super brittle, if I did that with my resin now it would shatter completely!
@chaucer4415 күн бұрын
I've never used elegoo water washable resin but I imagine it would work just fine since I've mixed it with 2 separate elegoo resins. There's only one way to find out =) Go for it.

Great video, Cris. This looks like a fun build. Suggestion: When you hollow out a model, try using the Grid3D infill option. You can set a percentage of infill for more complex shapes, but it also eliminates internal supports from filling up your "hollowed" model. Saves resin too. P.S. - I just primed my AT-ST, so it's coming along. Cheers - Virgil
@chaucer4415 күн бұрын
thanks for the suggestion. Is grid3d part of the regular chitu download? I think the infill options are only for FDM printing. This example was done for resin printing - totally different animal.
@christopherdivirgilio986115 күн бұрын
@@chaucer44 I only print in resin ... so far, but yes, it's in the hollow option in Chitubox. I'm running the free versions FYI.

how can you go from curvy to flat? opposite of what you did.

what part are you trying to make? Make it fresh as a flat piece.
@Shinobubu19 күн бұрын
Also don't use "rescale" what you want is the model surface to shrink/expand and that's done with Chitubox -> Settings -> Advanced -> Tolerance Compensation.
@chaucer4419 күн бұрын
Thanks for that. That's a method I haven't tried yet. This is only one of dozens of projects I print on that particular printer. You'd have to go in and adjust the compensation for each project. For this I'd rather get in and get out without having to remember to readjust the settings. But I'll definitely do some experimenting with tolerance comp.

I.L.M. The real Rockstars of film FX! Right along with anyone that did practical FX back in the day. That's how I compare the industry now. People that did old OG FX are equivalent to metal bands like Zeppelin, Sabath and Dio. And these CGI guys are NSYC and Spice Girls, no substance to them. Pure mind rot dance music. Just like CGI. That place should have been made into a museum.
