The thread boarder router inside eero router simply does not make any sense. In theory it would only allow controling to those thread devices from the local network, but not from outside of home (this is what proper ecosystems like apple homekit, samsung smartthings, google home, support).

good review. I've used both and the Anker does feel better but with a much worse magnet and the ring goes from being difficult and stiff to engage, to loose after a couple of months (they have good customer service and willl replace but it gets tedious) . The popgrip has a fantastic hold so is much more secure, but the edges of the plastic are sharp and do makes indentations on the finger it's resting on so it's a bit less comfortable (esp with the larger Iphones). The other weird quirk is that it sometimes attaches at a slight angle if not careful so you need to put it on straight but that's a minor issue. In fact the popgrip has the best hold of any magnet I've tried (I went through 5 different branded grips) so it's a no-brainer to stick with it if want to minimise risk of the phone dropping off. The price of these things is shocking though at £30 in the UK.

Does this mean I can connect matter via thread devices to the eero pros and control them with HomeKit? If so, that would be awesome 😮

My wireless pad stopped working. Getting customer support to respond is virtually impossible. I've emailed multiple times and heard back about a replacement but it's been about 4 months and crickets. Do not buy - they're not a trustworthy company.

This is a joke. There is definitely more to it than simply toggling on the "Thread" switch in the Eero app. I've done so, and my Nanoleaf still shows "no network found". There is more work to do to set this up, and AFAICT it requires configurations outside of either the Nanoleaf or Eeero app. All I've found is that they need to be "linked" somehow, though I still haven't figured out how. So yeah strictly enabling Thread may be simple, but if you can't connect anything to it what's the point?

Nanoleaf bulbs ( prior to the Matter versions ) are for Apple Homekit only. Therefore you need a Homekit Hub with Thread. Eero's are not Homekit Hubs they are only Homekit compatible.

I’ve used both, the popgrip first because I had a regular pop socket for a long time and it’s just too bulky. It kept spinning off and the actual pop socket would fall off all the time (ever since they made them interchangeable). The 610 is what I’ve been using to this day until I switched, it’s slimmer and I like the way it spins so you can really adjust to the perfect grip. The only downside is that 1, it does leave scratch marks after a while of spinning it and I think the worst part is that the ring itself becomes loose. When swiveling out the ring to use it in the beginning it was very sturdy and kept my phone up in any position when way watching videos etc. Now though, I can damn near flick it out with one finger no problem and doesn’t hold my phone up unless I open it all the way. I need a hybrid of these somehow lol

Here is a reason that shows why all updates aren't, all good. When the show 15 came out it didn't yet have FireTV. But it would connect to the FireTV Recast device. When the update to FireTV came, it would no longer connect to the Recast device. This was by design. Gone is access to local live TV and recorded TV content. Why go backwards? Because Amazon never thinks things through.

@MixofTech - any chance you've tried this product with the iPhone 14 Pro? Would be keen to see if it still fits, given the larger/taller camera bump on the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max.

Don't even buy it... many are damaged and have black screen... to my after a few days of fulfilling the warranty, dawned with the logo on the screen and then does not pass. Total that technical support only gave me a 15% discount for another heatsink ... They are pentontos if I spend another $300 to only last me 370 days.

The stand looks quite cool, but here what confuses me a bit. So, you have a stand with a removable battery. This is great. But what if you use it in the office? You come to the office, put your phone on this stand/charge, and it is charging. Then you go home and... Actually, you have to take the battery with you. Put it in the bag, pocket or attach to the phone. And if you accidentally forget the battery at home - the stand is pretty useless since you simply can not attach your phone to it. I mean, sure, you can leave the battery in the stand if your environment is safe. It would be really awesome it the stand could work as a phone holder without a battery. In this case, it would be awesome. Without it - just cool.

The only problem with this charging solution (like many others) is that it is not sleep-friendly. I cannot sleep with any lights glowing or blinking The room has to be dark. Otherwise, this would have been a great charger on the nightstand.
