She’s terrible. Unsuited to dramatic coloratura. Here’s why: She has no coloratura, high notes, chestnotes or technique. She can scream though but that doesn’t count. Not in opera.

where can you get the tools to make a reed?
@malthus101 Жыл бұрын
So not only do the oboes cost thousands of dollars, one also needs to buy all these bloody bits of equipment to make the reeds with as well! This has to be the most expensive and troublesome instrument in existence.

We also bought the RnS profiler for our duo-oboe household and the machine is simply FANTASTIC!! RnS make the most incredible machines and devices for all things double reeds. Just amazing - and super-top quality German engineering. No one makes machines like the Germans do - technology from the future! (And NO, we do not work for RnS!)

I've always made a loop then pulled the ends through but recently I saw a woman make two loops of both threads over her fingers, slide it down the body, and pull. It took seconds and left an equal result. I'm going to move to that method in future!

Why do you use Canon at the title ? I really hate Canon. Canon fired me -most skill full engineer. Canon is not fare.
How thick is the cane and what curve is it ... what could I use as a dye? Marker, pencil, bolt wrapped in sandpaper?

Interesting looking gouger. Nice Oboist’s in sound track, and music selection. My dad taught harmony at Yale as a piano student, Paul Hindemith was his professor and he graduated in 3 years. So I was turning pages for him at the age of eight years old and listening to our own(dads)concert grand Steinway and Sons 1965 concert D. I started playing oboe when I was 10 so I became a very good sight reader. My dad and I loved to play the Schumann three romances together.

Can you record this again and make it 3 times louder? I'm using $100 headphones and have the youtube and laptop volume on maximum and it's not loud enough.

I like the sound of the Oboe. Any chance you want to gather all of the Oboe solos from Boleros and combine them into one long song?
