Great job, Hameed & Dr Sumaira. This conversation is not only refreshing but also incredibly informative and timely, especially given the current climate. Well done! 💯

FGM is one of the worst atrocities done to humans. Its evil & barbaric. Women become afraid of the men that are supposed to love them & love making love to them, but instead these men remove parts of thier womanhood from thier bodies for said men's wickedness & insecurities. I'm glad that you, Ronu are honest about this evil act.

"enslaved". No human especially Black, is a slave. Edit: I'm pretty sure there was no punishment for unfaithful or "disobedient" husbands. Misogyny is older than racism after-all lol.

Explain how these people supposedly know about slavery in Africa before Europeans you people are the oppressors so of course you will write books and all the other BS you use to try and lessen your evil in slavery you have no real proof of blacks enslaving blacks but we have proof of whites enslaving blacks nice try though

The British invaded Benin because they wouldn't stop enslaving other Africans. Human sacrifice and cannibalism was also widespread.

I watched a video of some descendants of slaves who are currently living in Suriname. Their ancestors named the village Dahomey their former homeland after escaping from their slave masters. No white man is allowed in their village and they have kept their african traditions to this day.

No mention of Phillips party being lightly armed, because it was a diplomatic mission? And that they were mainly made up of African porters and labours not soldiers? Infact There were only 3 soldiers, 1 being a medical officer. No mention of the mass human sacrifice to save them from the British, which was the main reason for hundreds of dead bodies? No mention of the British ending slavery immediately after taking over Benin?

The British army would torture the chiefs into disclosing the location of the Oba. As Malcolm X said, " They will pay one of us,to kill one of us, just to say it was one of us." Also, Benin was specifically targeted because of the priceless artworks.
