Batman, how far is your hatch spar( the spar that you attach your hatch hinge to) from the bottom of the galley when closed? 48"? The width of the ply? I know that some TD builders want a bigger size hatch and dont mind using more than one luan plywood instead of one 48" wide luan.

@OregonBatman18 күн бұрын
Oregon doesn't require trailer brakes... and most states require a braking system if trailer is above 3000 lbs dry weight. No way would I add an extra 1000 lbs to the 2000 lb trailer. I could have gone with a 6000 lb axle, but that would have been really stiff! :)

Does weekender has a daggerboard and how one rigged with lateen sails would perform?
@OregonBatmanАй бұрын
The weekender is designed to have a daggerboard... I chose not to install it. I believe any type of sail will work as long as the center of effort stays the same. Too far forward and it may dip the bow. Too far aft and the bow will lift and lose speed.

This looks like one of the first professional looking jobs. I think at 13:50 if you would have also counter sunk the wood on the rivet nut side it would not have wobbled. My theory is that it is rocking back and forth on top of the rivet nut lips.

I used Select Pine. It is clear pine (Knot free), lightweight and very strong. It is also very straight. Not the cheapest wood, but not the most expensive either. Very nice wood to work with!
