I disagree wholeheartedly heartedly. I think Mark Sears coming back is awesome for him and for us. With Nate playing multiple guards I think we will have plenty of space. Also I think Mark won’t have to be relied on as much with everyone we brought in. I think this gives us the best chance to make a run at a Natty.

@@BarnesonBama that’s fair, I just feel mark is gonna be the guy with the most mins and I rather it be someone like labarin philon, Aden Holloway, Houston mallette, Nass Cunningham. If those are the names you are concerned about that makes sense; however, my personal opinion is Aden is brought in to play a JQ type role off the bench. And then Philon will be the Cosby PG off the bench, maybe with some games he plays a lot but not expected to do much. My X Factor I am unsure of is Naas the talent is there but my expectation currently is he’s not going to play a ton this season and I don’t know that Sears impacts that because he’s more of a 2/3.

@@BarnesonBama yep I said all last year that Javon Quinerly was a huge loss, I thought he was a bigger loss than bediako. A lot of people disagreed. Then I pointed out that it was going to take a lot more than bediako for bama to be good on defense. lol then they was like yeah you’re right. Then I pointed out that our personnel just didn’t have the length and athleticism we had a smallish backcourt. But offensively JQ would’ve given oats a lot of flexibility offensively. Then fatigue wouldn’t have killed us as much as it did. Estrada as good as he was he wasn’t a good play maker. JQ allows Sears and Estrada to play there natural positions. But honestly because we didn’t have a traditional PG teams were sometimes confused because of that it’s funny how much juice oats squeezed out of the unorthodox lineup we had. RTR

What makes us so Dangerous is Our Depth and How Many Different Lineup Combinations we can throw at you and with the Depth we can play full speed at all Times and even do complete unit changes occasionally. Before getting to my Lineup Combo Predictions I want to go over the Last 3 on the Beach I don't have in any of my Lineups. 11-Diabotte- Great Young Player who brings the Juice and Without this Guy we may not even make it to the Sweet 16 and for darn sure not to Final 4 12-Flip a Coin Here. I'll go Cunningham- A lot of People Don't Realize Cunningham was the #1 Prospect, let say that again #1 Prospect in this Recruiting Class just 3 years ago as Freshman (2021) and 2 years ago as Sophomore (2022). Yes he dropped a Good Bit But I still believe he has All the Talent in the World and the Ability to Be a Top 10 Player with Hard Work and Great Coaching and He should Get at Alabama if he Wants It Bad Enough. Big Smooth 6'7 Wing, He is Similar to and Reminds me a lot of Brandon Miller and after a year or 2 I think he will be close to that comp. Philon- Another Great Young Prospect. I think Cunningham has a Higher Ceiling but Philon has a High Floor or maybe it's better said that Cunningham has A Lower Floor and Higher Ceiling. I think Philon will be a solid 3 to 4 year player for us and be a Late 1st/2nd Round pick down the Road. So if that's Bamas 11, 12 & 13 Plus the Top 10 Players in my Lineups Below, All I can Say is Watch Out, Natty Natty Natty Here We Come!!! 1st SEC Game: Cliff Nelson Youngblood Wrightsell Sears 1st SEC Game: Cliff Nelson Reid Youngblood Sears Big Lineup: Cliff Nelson Stevenson Reid Sears 3pt Shooting/Trailing Big Lineup Trailing 15 or More w/ 13-14mins Left Or Trailing 10 or More w/ 8-9 mins Left Nelson Stevenson Mallette/Youngblood Wrightsell/Youngblood Sears 2nd Unit that could relieve 1st Unit as whole to Keep 1st Fresh for Last 8 or so Minutes: Sherrill Stevenson Mallette Wrightsell or Youngblood (whoever is not with the 1st Unit) Holloway Against Smaller Guard Heavy Style Team without a Dominant Defender in the Paint or A Team with smaller Bigs than Normal not Known as Great Defenders down Low:.. I will look into boosting the audio for the next episode sorry about that. My sinuses were acting up and may have played a factor. I think Nelson is a much better 4 being able to play help side defense and so Cliff and Aiden being true 5s should help his production. Sears I don’t think will have to produce at the full same to be successful I think his minutes should stay around 32-3 but hopefully not need the 39-40 min games that destroy legs. I think the team as a whole will be better so he shouldn’t need the same production coming in.

I'm sorry but you are 100% wrong about the competition in OTE, it's actually a much higher caliber of player in OTE compared to anywhere else. The reason he dropped in ranking is because there are many great players in OTE that kind of overshadowed him, oh, and because of people that think like you do. Just look at all of the current and future NBA players coming from OTE - the Thompson twins, Dominick Barlow, Alexandre Sarr, Rob Dillingham, Tyler Smith, Izan Almanza, and the list gets bigger all the time. And OTE is only in their 3rd year! Also look at what just happened in the tournament that just played out in Europe, OTE went there with their young talent, not even their best talent, and with only 1 practice session, went 2-1 against the best young European teams. I'm sick of hearing how OTE doesn't have great competition, it is second only to the NBA and G-League as far as talent goes. If you played OTE teams against the best college teams, I guarantee they would win a majority of those games. Don't sleep on OTE, you will regret it.
@BarnesonBama
@BarnesonBama Ай бұрын
Agree to disagree. Also the NBA GLeague Ignite was an abject failure. Look at Link Academy and Prolific Prep both of those teams are better than the best OTE roster. As for the Europe comment look at Alabama last season they went 3-0 including a win over a National Team. US high school is better than Europe and that’s just a fact, Prolific or Link would have done the same

When a team can lock down your 3 point game late, the only option, however ugly is to drive the ball and at least draw some fouls. Bama did a poor job of this. They simply danced around with the ball chucking up 3's in vain too much over the last minutes of the game. The reason Barnes was sitting anyone with 2 or more fouls was he was assuming Oats would try and draw fouls late if Bama had trouble scoring. Tears did some of this but it wasn't enough and TN was careful not to foul. Why Oates didn't attempt more of this late is a mystery and a mistake. TN than would send in players to commit fouls to prevent runs. Estrella and Mashack were for this purpose, Vescovi as well. All three aren't vital scorers so they an be used in this way.
@gwhite7136
@gwhite7136 3 ай бұрын
Bama had home cooking with the refs and did their part to get TN's bigs out of the game early on. Bama is a good offensive team but it can't be a team that lives and dies by the three. Tears is great but he's but one body that drives the ball. Plus, the defense for Bama, isn't good. You can't beat TN without a better defense, they are too good locking down the 3 late. Oates game plan made sense, limit Dalton and you have a better chance of winning. But doubling DK pulled valuable defense away from other TN players. TN can beat you multiple ways. Good effort Baama. Rebounding only matters when there is a massive advantage when you play better D and make your 3's.

Bama played a great game. Both teams had to lock in and it could have gone either way. I expected to lose around 10 minutes remaining in the 2nd half when it was obvious that Bama was executing a great game plan to contain Dalton Knecht. Contained him from taking over the game like he’s done in almost every other game but that opened up other players. Overall TN is the better team and perhaps the better coached team. I expect them to make a pretty deep tournament run because of this. Im glad that Tennessee had this game and it worked out with a win but even with a loss it would have still been beneficial because it would have shown what can be done when Knecht gets shut down offensively.

@@BarnesonBama No doubt TN's the better team. You can't allow so many points on a team. How many did UK score on Bama?? The defense is just as important as the offense. Bama has no inside paint game. They have maybe two drivers and outside of that, it's a team that depends on 3 pointers to win. Bama just needs to understand how important defense is.Oats, great offensive coach but defensive, well. This team looks a lot like last year's Bama team. I hope you all make a good run in the tournament but without our defense at TN, we know we aren't the same team. SC gave us more issues because of their defense. They shoot the three as well as anyone and better than us. Got more boards than us and usually do. I think if Bama does this, they are at least sweet 16 team, whenever Bama gets the D figured out and maybe a few more drivers? TN is better coached evidenced by where, "both" the defense and offense are ranked and situational coaching favor's Barnes. 2 or 3 points over the last 9 minutes is more than a coaching advantage, it's an, "cry uncle" scenario. Go SEC!

Bama in that first half committed teh same fouls and weren't called for it. But we come to expect that in games like this that are home games. Statistically, the home team gets the better end of the officials in calls. That is the way i'ts been for ages. @@BarnesonBama Sure you play your averages but when the 3's aren't falling and it's later in the game, if it's not working, you have no choice other than to drive and take the 10-15 foot Jumpers and only Tears did that.. That won't work, and isn't enough. If those 3's aren't falling, forget what you do best, statistically, you aren't going to win the game shooting that poorly from 3 point land for most of the game. Rely on points inside on every possession. Once you get down to those last possessions and the three's aren't falling, chucking up pressure three's won't win it. Keep going inside. The spacing was there for jumpers all game long, all season long for Bama. When you play TN, they are the team that allows the most 3 point attempts but are the best at creating 3 point misses in the SEC. Knowing that Oats I felt should have made jumpers and inside the paint more a consistent scoring with possessions. If he can do this, Bama goes further in the tournament, not like last year. You just need a more consistent answer for when the 3's are well guarded or aren't falling.
