Thank you. I think I’ve watched 100 videos on compression at this point. As always with your vids, straight forward and easy to follow.

I don’t see the point without hearing it in context. What about the kick? 250 is usually a great freq range for the bass to stand out. Come on.

Great tip, thanks for delving into this. Super useful not only for creating space in a sound source, any sound source, but also for shifting the tonality within the sound source, for an example if a pad happens to have a texture slightly leaning on the left, you can bring out something on the right to balance it out, or with a hi hat on a stereo mix of a kit, the kit can be re-balanced with the hi hat shunted to the right more, or whatever is desired.

We need a separate version of just the mix section with the 2 EQs and masking feature so at any giving time one can compare two melodies that may be conflicting or drums for that matter

Does the 2nd plug-in have different harmonic settings? I might be full of crap or disillusioned but the second one sounded different to me. Maybe it was due to the different parts of the performance

I always find plugins of this sort technogically fascinating, but ultimately useless: unless you were making videogame sounds, cartoon soundtracks or some tragically silly dance pop, tell me honestly, where would you use this?? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Besides, nothing here that couldn't already be done with Melodyne, a H3000 and a good vococder, plus some ingenuity and effort.

How are these for producing??? I was thinking of going for beydy 900 pro x but maybe i. Can just use these with the headphones emulations then do mix downs with the rooms running
@GreenLightSound
@GreenLightSound 11 күн бұрын
I think that would work great. HD linear for producing, then your preferred room for mixing.

Im very interested, im really into analogue emulations, there is not a single channel in any of my projects that doesnt have a uad plugin on there Edit: compressor is very vibey in vintage mode, i like it The reverb is lovely The pre amp seems very subtle to me, could be the youtube degradstion I definitely need to try these out for myself Thanks for making me aware of these im gonna check these out

The preamp can be subtle, but it does add a nice thickness you can hear on good monitors.

I know i’m listening on a phone, but as soon as you added processing the bass when away , if you use saturation you hear bass better on small speakers, sorry Andy.

what do you make of the little bit of chorusing? any noticeable difference, or aesthetic improvement? Maybe it's like a Phil Collins type thing? Maybe they punch through a bit more in a mix, or just stick out? I can't say I hear why a Bricasti is important here, or just a short verb with some chorusing.
@GreenLightSound
@GreenLightSound 14 күн бұрын
I think the chorus just helps it stick out a bit more. It's not much. He used a hardware Bricasti with this patch, hence the plugin version. I'm sure you can get similar results with any ambience verb.
@MikeBrayton
@MikeBrayton 14 күн бұрын
@@GreenLightSound yeah that makes sense. I think some of these choices these big engineers make are just based on flavors they're used to hearing. He owned a Bricasti, and so he just kept using it, developed a taste for it. Just like, say, wine. Often the $50 bottle just doesn't taste any better to me, just different. But if I keep drinking it, then I start to prefer it. So the tendency is to think there is some especially more pleasing quality about these choices, and that may be true at times, but not always. I don't know that a Bricasti sounds natural to me, very clean, yes. I don't prefer it generally. Maybe I just want to use the room mics... and maybe put a little chorusing on them? Or not. So it just makes me wonder what he likes about this setup so much, or even whether he does, or whether he just uses it now and again in certain circumstances. What circumstances, I wonder.

If I need to cut the bass, let's say 60hz using low cut to open space for the kick, should I place the EQ in the Bass group, where you have DI and AMP or cut in the DI only? Or amp only? Great video!

No saturation with the clipper for what I understand.
@uw0tm838
@uw0tm838 26 күн бұрын
The differences are due to presets having polar opposite settings. When the old version uses stereo mode and nickel (saturation on highs), the new one uses dual mono and steel (saturating lows) etc.
