Great video I've had 4 of these from the 80s to 2000s.

I don't know if it is the camera sound effect but your car seems to be noisier than the original tone. in essence, these Volvo were high quality car and that car translates that to perfection., fun factor included.

Yes, I thought that seems like open carbs, mine were fairly quiet, sounds like exhaust blow, but great car.

Makes me want to go drive my BRG '67 1800S...but soggy PNW weather dampens that. So I'll have to get my fix driving, watching your video.

What a great video of a lovely 1800S! Due to severe osteoarthritis I can no longer drive my 1966 1800S, but this short video captures the driving experience to perfection. The sight, the engine sound, gears and o/d - and the steering!! I so loved watching this video. Thanks Nick, for uploading - it made this old man very happy... Sincerely and with all good wishes, Peter A (London, UK).

I wanted a 240 wagon, but because it’s not in the “acceptable emissions class”where i am, i had to settle for a V70. Amazing car, 2.4T, but the style of the 240 wagon is much nicer to me.

That seemed awfully quick for I assume a B20, is it injection or carbs, I'm guessing engine had work done, very nice/impressive 👍

When locking the OD in you should always use the clutch paddle to prevent the OD gearbox from damage!
@hauke4651 Жыл бұрын
@@roopster1959 that’s how they were designed by factory…but it’s even better to press the clutch…if one have to negotiate gradients you can lift the accelerator and lock or unlock the OD

Me too! Loved it so much. Sold it to a friend who got hit in a major crash a few months later. If it had been any other car he likely would have been killed.

Why didn't you show what's under the bonnet? That's where the party piece is!
@patrickd9551Ай бұрын
The best a 2.3L turbo redblock could do was 200 HP. Not too shabby for the time, but compared to todays standards not that much, especially considering the weight that engine had to lug around. The best part about the bonnet was the amount of space you had around the engine, made repairing the car a dream.
