O.M.G. I just did a Viking Ocean cruise. NEVER have I ever been served a day old steak, or a Peking duck burrito from any cruise line. The food was not the best, nor would I recommend this cruise line. It's just not worth three times the money. I had to eat at the buffet after I ate at the specialty restaurant just to get enough to eat. I hate to think what the river cruise resturant serves.

I'm on Regent for the first time this November. Looking forward to it a lot.

Seriously? If you want fantastic service and food on a true, small (112 passengers max) luxury cruise, you should cruise with SeaDream. Similar prices and much better service than some of the ships mentioned.. Not a fancy cruise ship, but the food and service are fantastic.

Last summer, we were on an Alaskan cruise with Princess and this March we were on a Viking River cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium. I know, not an ocean cruise so not an exact comparison. However, the difference between the two was immense in terms of personal service, attention to detail, food, excursions at the ports and atmosphere on board. The dining experience was like being in an elegant restaurant every night-and also every breakfast and lunch.

I think this may be either an old video or based upon old information. I don’t believe Crystal has casinos any longer.

Seabourn (not Seaborn) should be removed from this list if you want to include dining. Thomas Keller is no longer involved, and as of last month, the food could have been better in the main Restaurant. The only well-staffed and great food was Sushi. It's no longer on my list of great cruise lines.

The truth be known none of these cruise lines are truly luxury compared to normal cruise lines of the past..Full of BS although the ships are better than ever but everything else food quality and entertainment are second rate. They are designed to cut overheads which allows them to compete in today’s overcrowded cruise market .

Oceania and Viking are the best in my humble opinion, especially when it comes for crowds, wait times and bang for the buck. I'll be very specific and answer questions if interested.

Have taken four Viking ocean cruises since 2017, and just finished the fourth this month. Each one has been a step down from the last. The staff and for the most part the food are as good as they've always been, but the prices continue to dramatically rise while the cost cutting everywhere else is painfully obvious. For example, take entertainment. On our first cruise, we had 8 singers supplemented by a pair of dancers. On this last cruise we were cut back to 4 singers and no dancers.* Activities and creativity have also slid over time. My wife commented " They're just phoning it in now." On our first cruise, we had one day of very bad weather, and also missed our first port of call. Before the cruise was even over, without asking Viking issued everyone a voucher equal to 25% of their fare. On this last cruise, we had several days of rough seas and missed the cruise's featured destination. This time there hasn't even been a hint of compensation. Viking was arguably an exceptional cruise line pre-covid. It's still very good. But the idea that today it's the #1 luxury line is absurd. * - The guest performer's hook was that he played multiple instruments. He opened his second performance with an accordion! I thought "I've seen a cirque de Soleil like production and Priscilla Queen of the Desert while at sea, and Viking's reduced to trotting out an accordion player. This is luxury?"
