if you dont smack it straight into biggest grass, stop weving fast like you do and let it work its way first then maybe it will survive. I feel pain watching you using this trimmer. Its a good trimmer though, but for this price it should be better.

Best way to test them out is to do what you said :) However, they are under-powered so go figure.

I made a new aluminium plate in the air cleaner to press down those plastic choke gears as the original metal plate bends and thus the lever comes loose. PROBLEM.. The clutch ONLY sits about a cm or less inside the drum and is very noisy. Shouldnt the clutch face be fully inside the drum so even wear and not offsided? Seems a lot wrong with this machine; little things but also it makes no smoke BUT every half hour i adding another tablespoon of oil to the sump!! Breather does pump out lot air and some spitting oil which gets fed back into carb throat through bottom of AC housing But not back to crankcase like on B&S small engines.
@ceedeekaytee1961
@ceedeekaytee1961 3 ай бұрын
When it stalled and wouldn't start, I noticed that you did not prime the carb again. Try giving it four or five pumps, to give it some fuel put it on half choke and it should kick. I have one and don't have starting issues. The fuel pickup needs to be in the fuel too so when you turn it upside down if the pick up is sucking air it will stall. Keep it topped up for best results. Good luck.

I probably followed the priming instructions before trying to start it again. I may have been concerned about flooding. I have that same issue with the fuel pickup on other trimmers sometimes and have to keep it topped up. Good advice from you there!

I have this strimmer and agree with all your points. Suits my needs for domestic use on my garden but can't take care of the rough weeding on the mound behind the house. Perfect for strimming sides and places hard for the lawn mower to get to. Happy with it so far and both it for €170 in 2022 and is used regularly enough. Would recommend.

Fun fact: the videos do better in the KZfaq algorithm if they're over 10 minutes long, just in case you didn't know. Still enjoyed the content, though. Keep up the great work!
@Lawn_Care
@Lawn_Care Жыл бұрын
Here's another fun fact. Some of those KZfaq help channels say that videos perform poorly if they are over 10 minutes long. This one was originally 12 minutes long and it flopped. So I edited it within KZfaq. Same with others in recent months because they are boring and average view duration and so on is low :) You will notice that popular videos on popular channels are nearly always 6 or 7 minutes. The algorithm puts them in front of more people and audience retention and average view duration is higher. Thanks for watching and I do remember that old tip but I have had a different experience so I usually do shorter videos now. Some readers of this might find what both of us said helpful to research further and experiment with on their channel. So it's good that you mentioned that tip. Some of my old videos are longer and perform poorly. Some shorter ones do okay. It's a mixed bag. Others might see the same?
@Lawn_Care
@Lawn_Care Жыл бұрын
I do have another possible video to create and it should be more than 10 minutes. So I'll experiment again and see how it goes without editing within KZfaq in any hurry this time.

Some people suggest using pool salt too. The soil really needs to be removed so that there is nothing for grass runners to grow in. Pressure washing the pavers and the gaps would blast it all away.

This does qualify as Landscape Archeology, you re-found and uncovered a lost paving area. Paving is good, unless it somehow gets neglected and then recovery, as you show, becomes a multi-effort process that requires persistence. Nice work. Fun Before and After photos.

How long would you say that trimmer head (plastic part) lasted before it totally broke apart? Also did the metal part break away shortly, and were you able to get any replacement? Thanks for the heads up on this model!
@Lawn_Care
@Lawn_Care Жыл бұрын
The trimmer head doesn't last beyond about 4-6 weeks if used daily at work and you're a bit rough with it. I can get parts at my local mower shop as they sell them individually. They also sell a whole new trimmer head of course but really it's just the cover and knob that breaks quickly and you lose the spring under the knob. I found that leaving the broken knob in place and putting on a new cover and manually pulling more cord out each time extends the use of the trimmer head for ages. So that's what I do now. It does waste time but not that much. Yes the metal part that holds the trimmer head broke off somehow and my local mower shop wouldn't fix it under warranty or sell a replacement. It's attached somehow with a small pole and broke. The flexible shaft is good but whatever holds the trimmer head to the pole shaft is pathetic. There's a very thin 'C' groove on the small pole coming out of the back of trimmer head (see 1 minute 20 into this video). Nothing seemed to have fallen out when it broke. So I don't know how it attaches to the inside the main pole shaft. Other trimmers have a piece that connects the two. I'm going to experiment with another trimmer head assembly and screw to hold it onto the pole. Then put the flexible shaft in and see if it all rotates properly. A new pole with the trimmer head attached is half the cost of a new one of these trimmers. That's what my local repair shop wanted to install to fix it. I'll just experiment with a different trimmer head assembly instead (e.g. one with a power head). Hope that helps and thanks for asking because others might find it helpful to know about my experiences with this trimmer.

Yikes, tall indeed. I always thought as a home was under construction, the BUILDER crew kept site tidy. Gosh it's sad, they went after the potential new owner for this. ha the construction guys just throw everything out into the yard :) I was constantly pulling junk out to avoid breaking a mower blade. Us channel owners can't win with the music :) It covered areas of no sound and I'm no good at narrating anyway. I tell people to mute the volume if they have to. Anyway, I'm glad those points helped. Other videos on other channels may have additional points to note in helping to make a decision. I do find the small tank to be quite annoying.
