My mother who once heard us repeat the word stupidly/dumb because we (me and my sisters) had heard it without knowing what it meant except how it was used asked us, "and what does that mean". Then she explained why such words should absolutely not be used, and how it was offensive to ourselves, and I don't know how to call it-it is worse than wrong to say them. She explained to us that this all dumb and idiot and weak-minded are called people with real medical diseases (mostely brain damages) and conditions which, unlike us and the person we have called so, do not have the opportunity to be healthy develop, and at a minimum we must show respect for people in such a state (for example, the so-called weak-minded). Sorry for my english I still lerned it

Jr. High (7-9 grades) Drama (and Choir and Guitar) teacher here! I would LOVE to see your backstage spaces and how you organize them! I have been working all summer to get our props, costumes, and building supplies organized so they will be more usable for my second year teaching. I am blessed to have a good sized auditorium, but I don't have much room backstage, fly system or dressing rooms/bathrooms/sinks, or shop. I inherited kind of a mess in my school auditorium, and though I know it will never be "done," I have to at least try to keep some semblance of order so I don't have the chaos that I dealt with last year! Also, do you have any tips for teaching on the stage in a big auditorium space? I do have an office, but no classroom, and keeping the students focused in such a big space is not easy. I've thought about building a school room "set," but I think I've run out of time for that. (And our auditorium is frequently rented by other groups, so everything has to be easily moved and stored.) Whew! Thanks for listening, and thank you for posting more Theatre teacher content!!! 🙂

THANK YOU for showing how you use your spaces as a Drama teacher! I teach Drama and Choir (and Guitar) to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders, and while I am so GRATEFUL to have an auditorium at my disposal most of the time, it is difficult to teach all my classes on a stage and not in a classroom. I just need some ideas on how to keep Junior High kids focused and corralled on my stage. SIGH. (That is my way of asking you to post more Drama Teacher videos! ;-D)

here in nevada! we also have outdoor bathrooms, but now that i think about it, they've always been under something, haha. like -there's a roof over your head. if it's raining, you're not getting soaked to use the bathroom - unless you use the one by the cafeteria or you're in a portable
