This guy is right, he knows how to operate an international tractor nothing hard about it if they are adjusted correctly. They are actually easier than the Deere’s of the day. Not power shift, but a lot more usable gears than Deeres power shift, or quad range.

We had a transmission brake installed in ours. Seems like a lot of people complained when it was operator ignorance.1086 was strong in the horsepower dept. Turn the Bosch pump up and it would dyno 170-180. Worse thing about them was a little weak on hydraulics. Nowadays, the new complainers hate the power shift trans in Deere 8000 series tractors and want the IVT which is a lot more expensive and won't hold up as long. The power shift is great. I started life on a Farmall H, 400, 350, 460, 656. 544, all the 66 series tractors and 86 tractors. I've been through most of the Deere 40 series and my last experience was with the Deere 7 and 8000s. I still have a IH 5288 which has the tri-six.

Machine shop welded a 1000 spline shaft onto the coupler that screws onto the transmission countershaft. Slid the pump on and built the mounts from that point.

@smgussey7 ай бұрын
There was never a kit made for the Super C, so anything would have to be completely custom-made. It's certainly possible, but I have not seen one. Closest would be an electric power steering system that was put on a Farmall A or B... check Farm Show magazine as that's where I believe I read the article.

I have a 99 Ram V10 while driving it today i noticed the oil pressure gauge reading extremely high . I've never noticed it moving before when the truck was under load pulling an incline that wasn't very steep. It was so concerning i pulled over quickly turned the engine off . Checked the oil checked for leak's but found nothing. I disconnected the battery for 10 min Reconnected the battery started the engine and attempted the 57 mile trip home. I eventually made it home the truck ran as usual. i can't dismiss what i saw and the thought of installing additional gauges for the purpose of Getting an accurate oil pressure and engine coolant temperature reading. Sorry for the long comment .

It's odd to see high oil pressure... could have been an electrical issue, maybe? Definitely check with a good mechanical gauge to verify exactly what you have.

@olivedrabgarage62438 ай бұрын
You'll burn out wiring, coil, condesors etc using 12V on a 6V system. A lot of the slow start problems are because your grounding connections are corroded. Clean them up, re-apply tinning to the points, clean bare metal to bare metal where the starter motor mounts to the engine block etc....then try again with a new starter switch and fully charged battery. It should kick off perfect if your starter is and armature/field coils are in good condition
@smgussey8 ай бұрын
Been jump starting 6v tractors for 30 years off 12v, never a problem. Hook direct to the starter for the 10 seconds it takes to spin it over and haven't harmed anything. Lately I've just been converting everything to 12v and Pertronix ignition to get rid of all the troubles.

Why is big V10 8.0 and have revved low as 5,000rpm?
@smgussey8 ай бұрын
Designed for low end torque like a diesel, 450 ft-lb at 2400 rpm stock. Specially designed intake manifold to boost torque at 1700 and 3300 rpm too. It was meant to compete with the diesel option of the day, and it out powered them in stock vs stock form.

Im sure it's better then it was, but that's probably a heavy truck and weight is a huge killer for acceleration, for a extended cab Long box 4x4 to accelerate as well as a V6 accord, it would need at least 500 horsepower
