how is tidal range 0.86 1.56 m-0.58 m=0.98 m maths isnt mathing
@searchingforcoconuts224823 сағат бұрын
HI, and thanks for posting... In this example, we worked out the tidal range from first low to first high which is 0.7m to 1.56m, giving us a tidal change of 0.86m... if we wanted to work out the next tidal range, as you have suggested, then you are correct, it would be 0.98m. Hope this helps

This lecture is very informative and the best one i found online Thankyou so much!! However wave noise distracts and even the reverb added to the voice, seems like you're speaking from a large bathroom. :) Feedback For the next lectures :)

Corrections - Remember!!! starboard = very important information! port side= information nice to know Examples: Courtesy flag, Quarantine, diver in water, etc - Starbord spreader Your nationality, language, sailing club - Port spreader Boat Registration - Sternpole (or Backstay if necessary)

the stern line should be led to the aft bit on the dock cleat
@searchingforcoconuts224824 күн бұрын
yes, you are correct, small oversight on my part as our stern overshoots the dock and we have no choice but to tie up as such
@drewwilkins996322 күн бұрын
@@searchingforcoconuts2248 That makes sense. I was referring to the diagram at 2:05. General recommendation is to lead a dock line (whether stern, bow, spring or breast) to the far bit of the dock cleat, wherever possible

Hey Derek, we just got our first boat, (for free)! She's a Lotus 25 & guess what? She's called Nicole Lol. Having now sorted all the running rigging, (Thanks to your tutorials), we now have to sort a holding tank because we are on the lakes in Sweden whilst we learn how to sail, so this is perfect. Love your sense of humour Kiki & Ian
@searchingforcoconuts224825 күн бұрын
Amaaaazing, Nicole will never let you down 😂😂 yeah I guess in Sweden you don't have a choice regarding holding tank, but we are so happy we installed ours... Updates please, and thanks for watching
@kikikirk25 күн бұрын
@@searchingforcoconuts2248 Will definitely give you updates once we take her out, this last 4 weeks has been replacing things & talking lots with the owner of our local chandler about the various options we have in setting her up, we also have a week booked with a local sailing club for lessons in the 1st week of July. I commented to help you guys out with the algorithm because I was suprised you don't have more subscribers considering the thorough tutorials you provide, just one question for now... Found any coconuts yet? Lol Fair winds
