Thank you so much 🙏 it’s just what I am looking for a good explanation for this pose. I am struggling how to build up this asana , I could go down to halfway and now I see I must feel relaxed and be able to breathing as well 😅 I practice Ashtanga for 5-6 yrs already. I love it 😻 namaste 🙏

These things are great. Never come across ashtanga yoga before I’ve been doing a little yoga over a period or time. My range of motion is not a a full as it needs to be for this lot but the Mariachi a you did the other day was wonderful for the internal rotation of my shoulders.

I've been practicing yoga for 41 years and recently diagnosed with lumbar spondy. For last few years, I have been pushing thru extension asanas and pain has gotten worse not better.. it's mechanical physics and common sense really. I've started working 1-1 with Pilates instructor but I am definitely grieving the loss of not being able to do a lot of yoga asanas!

Hi Leslie, thanks for sharing this as I "feel your pain." I agree with you when you see the MRI imaging that common sense kicks in. For me it was a huge revelation. Here I have been pressing my backbends for so many years which definitely wasn't helping it. I admit as well it is tough to let go of certain asana when I have condidtioned myself for so many years to think I had to "keep pushing." Yet what an enlightening discovery! Now we can move forward from a place of education and "common sense." Thanks for sharing your story.
