I did this one this morning and popped to the coffee box right by the start. Beautiful cold brew, and they had carrot cake that's suitable for vegans too. Very nice. Seahorse Coffee Box if anyone is interested.

I do need to get back to Hartlepool, such a quick course! I hope you enjoyed it. The Coffee Box looks lovely and tempting before the start of the run. Hopefully it wasn’t too blustery! Thanks for the suggestion 😁

@@EndorphinEmpire I heard people complaining about there being a lot of dog waste (I think it was on the 5K app) - but it was very clean yesterday actually! I loved it, very friendly people, almost missed my train due to chatting too much. Have fun!

Hey Grant, What a lovely review, and a cool channel! My friend linked it and I thought I would come say hello, I was the vegan runner you overtook who was struggling just toward the end on the last long hill. I really appreciated your encouragement that day, it was a hard one. I definitely agree with you about pacing-this was my first time doing Chevin and I wanted to do Craig proud-as I shot up that first steep hill way too fast and was just trying to recover the whole way round. I did really enjoy the route though, and was surprised how busy it was. Vegan Runners are having a very large memorial on the 29th at Woodhouse Moor, not sure how far it is to travel for you, but if you wanted to join us we would be love to have you. Theme is shades and headband. I think you said you had seen a lot of people posting about him online though, so you probably saw my video explaining it. All the best, Jes 💚🖤

Hey Jes! I’m glad I managed to help spur you up the hill a little last week. And I’m glad you enjoyed my video ☺️ Sorry I couldn’t make it over to Woodhouse Moor this weekend, I’m sure yourself and the Vegan Runners put on run in memory of Craig - you will have definitely done him proud over the last couple of weeks! I can’t wait to see the videos and pictures from the event! Fingers crossed the headbands were out in full force! Hopefully see you at another Parkrun soon! Grant ☺️

Another great review, thanks Grant. Appreciate the thoughtful mention of the runner who sadly passed away, and echo your condolences to his friends and family. Recently switched to more trail-like routes and this looks like a real corker - must cross the Pennines and visit sometime, especially for the Mistal Kitchen cafe!

Cornish bakery is probably the worst cafe in keswick, defo the worst coffee in Keswick. Try; Jasper's, Merienda, Square Orange, Strawberry Moon, HNW, Java or Lake Road Brunch. All much better.

@@EndorphinEmpire prob lake road brunch (try and book) then Merienda (shouldnt have to book), or if you want something different like a diner (ham egg and chips sort of thing) the Turkish place in Pack Horse court is cheap and cheerful with awesome cakes and Turkish coffee (more Caff than cafe).

"you can get to Sunderland via the Metro and walk over to the Quarry" - that's not the recommended way to get there Grant. From the Fulwell Quarry parkrun website "Getting there by public transport.Nearest transport is Seaburn Metro and a short walk to Newcastle Road, heading towards Fulwell Mill, heading north to the Miller and Carter restaurant." And even that is poor from a parkrun website as bus services 9 and 24 from Go North East will get you closer to the start point. I get that you have equipment to carry so that car is useful for this, but you really do not have to diss on non-car users so repeatedly and give wrong advice to them to boot. Parkrun as a charity has to kow tow to the UK government's green agenda, which I don't personally agree with as I'm more of a Nordhaus guy, but parkrun provides the material for your videos so please at least cut them some slack on the green issue. Seaburn Metro is the nearest Metro stop for this one, not Sunderland.

Nice review Grant as always. Ran here in October and many other events in area had been 'rained' off but strangely despite it been very very boggy on grass, and it also been 'charity takeover day ' by local running club so numbers double usual, it went ahead. - so in my opinion if conditions are wet and grass is soft definitely trail shoes

I go to Fulham Palace on wintery blustery days as The Thames smashes you with wind off the water and it’s great to be alive in the elements, looking across this great river I marvel at the rowers out on the water where the Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race starts. The Thames view is the best feature of this run and you run alongside Fulham Football Club which is always worth a look. You missed the event's cafe which would have explained the Palace in the nameand the palacial welcome - oh well.
