No, it's The Rifles Regiment. They both use Light Infantry Drill though.

They're L85A2s, they're a bit outdated, they currently use the L85A3 Which essentially has rails for attaching scopes etc

The names of the guards are more of ceremonial things. It isn't abnormal to see a guardsmen from a different regiment.

@@Hellowhoaryou generally higer skills? are you aware that the army and police force are quite diffrent? also those are royal guards, their skills are yelling and standing still, meanwhile the police keeps the streets safe

@@LadyZeldaia while the royal guard is ceremonial, in the cases of the grenadier, Coldstream, and scots guards they have a dedicated ceremonial company, while the Irish and welsh guards provide guardsmen straight from the operational battalion. the soldiers in the guard regiments will cycle through the ceremonial unit and return to the operational first battalion for deployment. I can almost guarantee that some of the soldiers that mount guard have been and have shot at combatants in iraq and afghanistan. i doubt that armed police officer has shot at a real human, let alone been shot at.
